Rekindling in Hawaii (Closed)

Steve looked at Chin and mentioned a few phone numbers and mentioned the prototype would take about 2 days to get here minimum so they were blind until then.
Wo Fat..damn...that meant things were getting big steve thought.
Steve asked Danny"Do your connections in the prison still operate with Wo Fat the same way they always have?"
Danny nodded. "Yea they run a message system through the laundry and then it gets to wo fat and back into the prison whenever he has high ranking lieutenants there. They use it for communication...You know i'm getting one of those feelings where it's like you want to do something that you think is cool but we all think is crazy and stupid....but hey it's just me."
"Well I was thinking if we could plant a snitch in prison with a good enough story or some kind of bait that would get Wo Fat's attention we could possibly feed him either bad intel or other kinds of interference since we've never had the chance to really impact his organization."

 

[Asa]

Chin nods and takes off.

Kona picks up her phone to see who was calling her.

Its Kalani...

Setting her phone on the viewer desk and with a few careful taps secured the line from tracing the location and then answered putting it on speaker phone.

Hey Kalani?

Hey girl was thinking we should get out for a while this evening. I have some time free where should we meet up?

Kona looked around to the others before answering. What about the old steps get in a good run then Kamekonas for dinner

Sounds great meet you there.

Kona looked to them. Bye guys I am going to go for a run... Wanna go too or meet up at my place bring the portable viewer again. And Steve lets try Not to tip off Wo Fat. Maylea is good but he has taken out people like her before ya know.

With that Kona walked out to get going.

Quickly getting changed she was in her running gear and starting down the stairs knowing none of them would remotely offer to join her. Alasdair caught her as she hopped ff the last step in a warm hug. A long kiss later and she smiled into his eyes.

I will be back later I feel so energized being back here I amd going to go run one of the old places I used to go all the time in college. Hows your meeting going?

Long and boring we still await one final associate to arrive so that we can rearrange our combined agreements with them. Have fun love and do not over exert yourself

Alasdair's hand rested on her stomach as she simply nodded and smiled before heading out the door calling back I think I will take the pathfinder where I am going that amazing sports car you got me can't really go... too messy. With that she was gone headed to the ancient steps.

Steve watched Kona and Chin disappear.
"Why does she try and tell me how to do my job?"
Steve hated it when anyone tried to boss him around. But then maybe that's why he loved being around Kalani so much. She kept him in place.
Danny looked at him and said "I wish I could tell you what to do and you would listen to me sometimes but no, you never do. It's like I don't exist or you don't value my opinion. I'm a professional, you're a professional we should talk it out and listen to each other."
Steve did listen to Kona however. "Well i guess she's right and we'll back off on Wo Fat. But we'll still look into the house."

 

[Asa]

Kona caught Steve saying Kalani insterad of Maylea. Good he was accepting Maylea was undercover and the cover is the truth till it ends. She knew this was getting to Steve and worried that he would in time do something to risk it all. She texted Danny...

If he tries to go to the ancient steps to run come up with something else for you two to look into or something unless you think he can handle being around her. Thanks

Getting home she changed to go for a run then headed off to meet up with Maylea.

Once she was out of the house she met up Kona telling her she saw the face of one of the people that Alasdair had been meeting with though she did not hear a name.

Kona thought about it for a moment then called Steve... so much for keeping Steve and Maylea apart.

Meet us at my place with the portable viewer bring Danny I'll call Chin.

Steve told Kona he'd be there and grabbed Danny and then wrangled the portable viewer and was about to head to Kona's place when Danny pulled his car up.
"Yes I'm driving this time. Don't argue just get in."
Steve grumbled and just got in.
Danny headed over to Kona's house with a grin on his face just because he was driving.
"I know you're enjoying the fact that you're driving but really?" Steve asked
Danny just grinned and didn't answer.

 

[Asa]

Spotting a tracking device Kona recommended leaving Maylea's car at the steps and taking her back to her house. Arriving there just after Steve and Danny Kona sighed as they headed in and Chin hurried over on the motorcycle.

Maylea looked to them once inside.

I have seen one of the people that Alasdair was meeting with don't have a name but maybe its something.

Kona was quickly getting the viewer set up and running and pulled up the other three that arrived so that Maylea could take a look at them

Him... first one... Wo Fat... Strange eyes far too intense even for someone in their business

Steve quietly asked Danny and chin to run faces through the facial recognition software they had to update that unknown.
"Maybe they can group him together with some others this new no name guy."

 

[Asa]

Chin looked to him. What no name guy? She just identified Wo Fat. The other two are Irish and Russian mob.

Was Steve getting distracted... Chin looked to Maylea with a clear look of concern about not only Wo Fat being the one she saw but also Steve and his behavior of late.

Steve... Should I call your old Col. in on this to help you get through this?

Kona asked with concern.

Maylea was now having serious doubts about having Steve involved in this.

Maybe I should arrange for the take down to be in another location.

"No and DEFINITELY no." Steve responded in a militaryesque response.
It was clear he was in the game and focused.
"Do we have intel on where they are coming from or where they are going?" steve asked

"No and No to both people" Steve answered military style.
"Chin-make sure we've got facial recognition software linked to all major networks to record teh meeting and put it in the database.
Kona-try and keep the audio reciever as high as possible. Sacrifice other functions other than camera quality to get it."
He looked at Malayea and pulled out his phone and texted her "don't ever question me like that in front of my team again."

Kona continued once Steve seemed to snap out of whatever his distraction was.

Russians have already left Irish don't know will track them and Wo Fat seems settled in for now.

Maylea looked to him.

Steve the only people we are taking down is Alasdair Moldero and his organization thats my only assignment. Focus or I will Move the take down to another country.

Seeing him snap military brought out the same in her.

The Col is busy on other aspects of this assignment and would not show up Kona. Though he was the one who thought that Hawaii would be a good location for the take down... Looks like he is testing one of us doesn't it Steve?

If the meetings are coming to an end we may have to move soon I will try to figure out the right moment. Once this is done I don't know if he will want to stay here or travel more.

Steve nodded upon hearing Malayea's comments about focus on Moldero.
"I understand and I am focused. I would suggest trying to try the take down after teh meeting ends but after he's away from Wo Fat. If Wo Fat sees anything then we'll end up dealing with his back up. Not to mention other stragglers like the russians or irish. Maybe his house?" Steve offered the venue of Moldero's house for the take down was the military way of saying "Sorry" and Maylea

 

[Asa]

The take down being at the house would be best. Only one way in and out.

Her eyes locked on Steve's for a moment before a thought crossed her mind and she quickly placed a call.

Alasdair... hry love how many more of these meetings are going to keep you from us enjoying the Islands? 3 more days..

Her voice carried a very uncharacteristic pout to it as she said that and continued.

Fine... but you will owe me big for this. Like kicking Jakob and your brother and his girlfriend out of the house for a week big. Bye dinner in our room sounds wonderful... till then.

Hanging up she looked around.

You have 3 days to be ready.

Kona and Chin were still stifling laughter at the pouty voice act.

Steve and Danny themselves stiffled a chuckle at the act.
Steve jumped on point.
"everyone meet back up at hq, nobody has any fun before this is over."

 

[Asa]

Now for our run? Kona asked after getting past the laughing.

Lets go Maylea nodded and they took off. Kona and Chin glad Steve held his cool while she talked to this Alasdair guy like she really did love him or something.

Chin piped up... Lets go to Kamekona's or do you two feel like... running.

Kamekona's for sure! Danny jumped on the bandwagon.
Democracy rules Steve.
Steve just sighed and nodded in agreement.

 

[Asa]

Everything seemed to follow nicely for a couple of days including a couple of bodies found clearly from meetings that did not go well in the Moldero organization. Kona kept in contact with Maylea incline to go out dancing the night before the take down. Kona did not tell Maylea that Danny Chin and Steve would be at the club too and she told them not to let her see them. Kona did not trust Jakob at all.

The boys were busy eating and chatting it up at the club at a table in the corner out of the way. They were being discreet and Danny was still going on about Kamekona's shrimp and how they never do it right. Some sort of soap box sermon about Jersey Shrimp.
Chin and Steve pretended to listen and keep Danny going. They didn't have the heart to tell him anything to stop.

 

[Asa]

A night out and away from it all... No stress with Steve no assignment no Jakob just a little down time to dance and hang out with an old friend knowing that it was all coming to an end tomorrow. What to do after that. If they take down Alasdair she will have enough presence with International to write her own ticket as it were about what she would do and where she would stay from now on. She wondered if she would have enough reasons to stay here in Hawaii.

Steve absently listened to Danny and then his eyes gazed upon her when she walked across the floor. He didn't bother to strain to see her. Just seeing her and letting her stray from his sight brought back memories of their first encounter at a bar on base. This place by far was cleaner. He smiled and Danny got angry at him for some reason because it wasn't funny apparently. He wondered if he could convince her to stay on the task force with them. Would it be a conflict? Would he get overprotective?

 

[Asa]

Chin had to shut them up... Kamekona not making scampi Steve staring at Maylea... It was not going to stay covert for long.

Guys...

Tagging both of their shoulders he spoke again

Guys... We need to plan out tomorrow. I will be in the van as always monitoring the device and the cameras you BOTH need your heads in the game... Now.

Maylea danced for quite a while but her mind kept demanding she remember the dive bar on base and the first time she ever met Steve. This assignment would all be over tomorrow if everything went how it was supposed to and then what? She was not willing to give up International but if she stayed could Steve handle that? She hoped so but she had her doubts.

Steve and Danny both stopped and gave Chin the glare of "REALLY?".
"You really know how to crash a party don't you Chin." Danny grumbled and ate his food.
"Let's get out of here first and then we'll talk about tomorrow." Steve directed.
They gently left and met outside.
"Chin as you said you'll be in the van providing tech support while danny, kona and I go in. I was hoping you would get the chance to use the FLY from the mainland Chin. Did it get here?"

 

[Asa]

Yep and in the house I'll show you lets go.

Chin shot Danny a look then looked to Steve who he had little doubt was looking at of for Maylea again and back to Danny.

Unknown to Chin that by the time they got to the van and took over for the other officer Maylea would be home and alone with Alasdair.

She got home and smiled walking in the door with a twirl only to find herself in Alasdairs arms as he smiled back to her.

Early meeting tomorrow then the rest of the week is just you and me

He kissed her...

I promise. We can plan whatever you want remodel this place whatever you like. Dominic will be leaving in two days for Mexico with his latest lovely and I was thinking of sending Jakob with them. You do not need the stress I know he causes you. It is just his prior training love... please don't be too mad at him.

She smiled.

Mad at him... No... want to beat him over the head with that rifle of his... yes but no I am not mad at him love.

Alasdair guided her out to the veranda where roses music and candlelight awaited them.

Steve went home and tried to relax. He never could sleep soundly before a big takedown. Always thinking analyzing everything. Thinking of all the angles.
Watched some tv, then was going to text her but thought against it and just went to bed and tried to rest for the big day.

 

[Asa]

The next day arrived and she went for a run and just some time alone with the island as it were while they had their meeting.

Kona arrived at the van early wanting to look over a layout of the house and see where Maylea's room was and try to plan out a route of getting to her if she was not outside with them or to help her get away from Jakob... There was something about that overgrown Russian that just did not set well with Kona.
