Hi to all!

I'm a new author, and so far I did not manage to get my story published. I had a volunteer editor review it, and he didn't find any glaring errors.

The motivation that was given to me for the rejection is:
- Did I check to make sure everything was spelled correctly?
- Were there any serious errors in punctuation or formatting (i.e. submitted in all capital letters, capitalization errors, etc.)?
- Please fix the punctuation of your dialogue. The convention is that you include periods, commas, exclamation points, or question marks inside the quotes. The essay "How to Make Characters Talk" in our Writer's Resources section has more information on the formatting of dialogue if you have further questions.

Is anyone interested in helping me with this? I'm starting to lose hope :(

Thanks,
mbkennet

PS I forgot, it's a story about foot fetish and humiliation.

Rejected again after edited by a VE? Would certainly be interested in knowing who the VE was. If you can work with Word tracking change and it isn't humongously long, I could look at it for you (on the rejection points only; I wouldn't get into content work). If interested, you can PM me for an e-mail address to e-mail attach it to. I'm swamped with work and my own writing, but if it isn't terribly long, I could get it back to you within two weeks. The rejection notice wording looks quite pointed and fixable, and it's a shame you've been through this without success three times already.

My inbox is empty at the moment so I could also look at it if you wish. Punctuating dialogue can be tricky, but the previous VE should have been able to catch all that stuff - providing you accepted all his/her changes. PM me if I can help you. Good luck!

I too am happy to help.

If it is the 'Tale of Two Girls' story you have already published to booksiesilk.com then I can see why it was rejected by Lit and it is simply the punctuation in the dialogue that is the problem.
If this is the case, I fail to understand why this wasn't picked up by the previous editor as it is very obvious. It is easily fixed. It is not my subject, but I can copy edit it if you wish, within a day or so.

Thank you all for your replies!

I sent the story to beachbaby179 for editing. I'm sure this time I'll be able to publish it :D

Cheers,
mbkennet

I am sure you will get a good job done there. Thank you for the courtesy of posting a result, some people desperately ask for an a editor and then are never heard from again.

Glad this is getting help. It would be comforting to be notified when it finally posts.
