As for Memphis, Calipari was again found of no wrong doing in what happened in Rose's SAT scoring, and what was the ultimate outcome.

You need to delve more into what your scandalous accusations and inconclusive conclusions come to. You need to not take what the media feeds you but what is really the facts and truth rather then the rumors and innuendoes of what fallacies led you to believe. You my friend are nothing more then the "sheep-lead-to-slaughter” that many of the media want us to believe. Don't down a program for wanting to build on a future rather than the disrespect of the past. Get over your prejudice and misunderstanding and move on.

Yeah you are probably right. Calipari is just the victim of bad luck and circumstances beyond his knowledge and control. As far as the mainstream media goes, outside of Bob Knight, he has been given a free pass. 2 vacated Final Fours speaks volumes. This guy is Tarkanian without the towel but with good hair.

Gun - Do you believe Iowa should have stuck with Likliter longer? It felt as though Iowa rushed into the hiring of a new coach. I hope McCaffery is able to rally the boys and produce. There's already the naysayers but I am a glass half full person and I say give him a chance. One thing is for certain... it's been a long time since it's been a Lute Olson Hawkeye team. Sigh.

Not following Iowa hoops that closely, I can't say if he should have been fired or not. Sometimes you can tell early on if a coach is a good fit at a program or a mistake. As a fan I would have been very frustrated. But I also would have been discouraged by Ferentz's start as well. he turned out OK. The hiring does seem rushed but that doesn't mean it was a bad hire. Time will tell if either or both decisions were good or bad moves I guess.

Lute is so associated with AZ that's it's hard to remember he ever coached at Iowa.

Lute took us to a final 4 ... that's what I remember as an Iowa fan growing up ... 80 maybe? If I remember correctly we got beat by Villanova.

Just feels like the firing of Tom Davis (was a big Davis fan) was the downhill turn.... Alford was a prick - still can't believe New Mexico did as well as they did at the tourney. :rolleyes: Likliter... well he just didn't seem to click with the program. Mostly I don't really know the ins and out and all the politics, I just enjoy a good ball game without having to deal with an arrogant coach.

I was a Ferentz fan from day one and never lost faith - it was nice to have it finally pay off this year.

Lute is a little like Nick Saban (in terms of accomplishments at least) to Spartan football then - win ten games, secure a New Year's Bowl, but then bolt to LSU and eventually to Bama and win NCs at both spots.

Lickliter may be our Bobby Williams and JLSmith - decent guys but not the "right" guy.

Hoping Dantonio is our Ferentz. His start was better than Ferentz's, but hit rough spots last year. But I have faith in him.

Hard to believe Alford was there eight years. Don't be put off by his "success" at New Mexico - one win as a 3 seed isn't special.

...can't wait for Saturday. Have a great few days.
