They're lounging all over my brain but one that three separate newscasters have just said:

"....The fire broke out at nine a.m this morning..."

The one that I really *hate* is when people who are taking personal details from ask "what was your name?"

I always reply "my name *is*...".

Just me being anal, I guess, but it bugs me.

What really gets me is . . .

"At your earliest convience!"

"Happens to be"

As in "She happens to be black."

or

"He happens to be gay."

I happen to be fed up hearing it.

And the idiotic award goes to....

"I like that too as well."

too as well.
too as well.
too as well.

I had a teacher that used that incessantly. Nearly killed me.

As opposed to three of the same newscasters?

No, you must be reading it wrong. I definitely meant three of the same newscasters.

Strike one: starting a thread on annoying redundancies with an annoying redundancy in the first post.

Shame on me.

Here's a redundancy that annoys the hell out of me:

irregardless.

the prefix "ir" and the suffix "less" mean the same thing in this case, making this single "word" redundant, not to mention idiotic.

This isn't redundant, but it's another grammatical pisser offer for me.

Example:

"I would choose the girl that likes red."

Should be:

"I would choose the girl who likes red."

Drives me even crazier when I catch myself talking like that. AARRRRGGGGHHH!!!

?????????

Damn, it's deja vu all over again.*

If I were somewhere else, I wouldn't be here right now.

I dislike it when someone quotes a complete five page post, then makes a comment like, I agree or some stupid crap like that. I read the post already...

Does anyone else hate it when they 'kill' a thread? I mean when you're the last poster before the thread wanders off to oblivion?

Was it time for the thread to die?

Did I say something wrong?

I always wonder...
