How's your sis doing?![]()
Thanks for asking. She's got her good days and her bad. Her medication is making her constantly hungry, so she's back to fighting weight issues. She's still not working and has been denied disability, but she'll reapply (eventually). I'm worried about her, but also about my parents. She's stuck in a place where she is content to remain, allow this disease to control her, instead of her controlling it, though I think she "thinks" she's in control.Evening.Thanks for asking. That's not good hon.She has to be in control of it at all times in order to stay ahead of it. Does she have any support (other than family) ... someone else that has this that she can talk to?
She is a steady member of an MS website where she talks with folks, but we can't make her do what we think is best. She doesn't leave the house simply because she doesn't know anyone outside of the family (besides folks online)...sounds like me a few years ago.She doesn't work, so she has no money to do anything even if she wanted to.
Does anyone on the MS website ever meet in person? I'm thinking it would help her to meet others with the same, plus it's a good opportunity to get out of the house.
I'm sure they do. However getting her to do something like that would be asking God to forgive Hitler.
~Sigh~ Hopefully she learns that she has to get out and keep going if she's going to fight this.
I hope so too. Not sure how to make her "wake up" to the fact that mom and dad will not always be there for her and she can't expect to move into my house or my other sisters' houses. I don't think she gets it, or she's content living in her world, where she sits and does nothing. I don't think I'm being too harsh, but it is frustrating to see others speak about MS and you know they have their bad days, but they decide they aren't going to let it control their lives. She is so able right now to move, think, walk, interact with others, control her own bowel movements, and exercise, type, speak clearly. Looking at her you wouldn't know she is suffering. Maybe that is why it is so frustrating to see her do absolutely nothing. Grrrrrr....
How are you though? Get some decent sleep I hope? And the mini-you, how is he?

All you can do is to be there and support her. I know it's hard, but sisters have to give each other the push they need. One of these days she'll open her eyes and get help.
Mini-me just woke up actually. He was laying in bed staring at the walls earlier, so I'm hoping he got a fairly decent amount of rest. I know he's still upset though. ~Sigh~
