I know there was a thread about this but got tired of looking for it.

To Manu, I really love this new feature on our submission page. Each day it tells me what stories readers have left comments on. No more having to go through them all.

It also tells me who puts me on their authors list and who has removed me from their list, as well as favoire stories.

To other authors: If you haven't noticed this addidtion, it is on your submission page below view. You can look at the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.

Hear hear, Hear. :D

I totally agree. It's a very cool feature. I personally don't get a lot of comments, so it's nice to see when people add me as a favorite author. It makes up for a lot.

On the other hand that broken heart... <sob> Don't go breakin' my heart! ;)

I totally agree. It's cool to see that folks enjoy your work and that stories you wrote years ago are still being read and enjoyed. :D

Manu, I gotta say I love it! I got real time feedback on one of my new stories, and found out that I was favorited/ and unfavorited by a few people on here! VERY COOL!:heart::D

Absolutely right. This was a wonderful addition to the Literotica user interface!

Until I saw that broken heart this morning and thought 'Damn, what can I submit to bring her back!'

I get a few new hearts every couple of days. A few days later I get broken ones. I believe some readers use it as a bookmark. Probably nothing that you did wrong.

I absolutely love this new feature.

Great chance to see if the Trolls come up with anything new and creative!

Favorite Author lists

At one time, wasn't there a favorite authors list that told how many readers gad you down as one of their favorite authors.

I have had a lot of activity on my recent activity list. Have seen quite a few names added and of coure, some broken hearts also.

Does such a list still exist or was I just imaging it. I thought it used to be under the favorites lists but now it only lists stories and poems.

Not a big deal but does make me wonder. I thought it listed the top 500 authors on a favorites list.

Go to the home page and click on "sneak peek" (for some reason, this has been advertised as a coming attraction for years--but it's been available for years). In the right-hand column, click on something like "show me the old list." That will give you the top 250 "favoratist" authors.

I get this fairly often as well. Here's a weird one: I have a 20-part series with a half-dozen spinoffs. Someone favorited 19 of the series parts (excluding the second one) and 4 of the spinoffs all in one go. Lovely display of hearts, but I expect a similar display of broken ones in the near future. BTW, the reader also added me as a favorite, so could have found the series easily anyway. I don't know what to make of this.

I absolutely love this new feature.

I hope not. The voting system has many flaws, as discussed here on occasion. People could maintain many alts if they want to up their own votes. I suppose they could up their own favorites count too if they wanted to do that much work. They can more easily down others with zeroes but they can't take away the favorites awarded by other readers.

My impression is that anything double posted from the same computer--including by alts--will be swept. (Which, of course, negates more than one reader in a household with one computer.)

Thank you kind sir, I'll check it out. I's good to know I'm not crazy yet, or senile.:)

Yes, but a user can work through an anonymous site that assigns a different IP address and a sophisticated user could write a program to do that many times, especially if the target site seldom changes and doesn't require extra steps (e.g., voting requires a simple click on a star which is always displayed in the same position whereas posting a comment requires entering a code that changes each time).

I for one don't worry about other writers votes and alts. I just have fun writing and posting my stories and of course my opinions on the A/H. If someone want ten alts, I don't care. I have enough trouble remembering my one name. haha I can't tell you how many times I've used dghere instead of dghear.

If you're getting thousands of reads, does ten really make a big difference? I do understand that it can hurt in a contest when figuring out the average vote. I don't epect to win so it really doesn't bother me that much. I lose hundreds of votes in just about every contest. I just consider it part of the game plan on Lit.

Anyway, I really do like the Recent Activity tab. Now I don't have to try and keep track of who recently commented on what story.

Well, yeah. And they do. That's why it's pretty useless to obsess over the rating numbers here. The voting system here is a sieve.

Thanks SR, I'm on the list so I'm in the top 250. Lots of deserving names on that list.
Thanks again

Hey guys. I didn't mean to obsess about the voting system. I agree it's a sieve and it's best to focus on the fun of writing. Cheers.
