I have got to the point,where if I have not been keeping up with a tread,if its over 25 or 30 post I don't even open that tread up.

Long tread are alright,but there seems to be a lot of nothing in most of them.Especially,when all you see as a post is,"Yea",or "Really",or"Gee I do" and things like that.It really takes the interest out of reading the tread

So I guess thats why I don't post very often,and I don't start very many treads.

And I have been known to kill a few treads myself.They see mortto56,and all of a sudden,"Boom" the tread falls right off the board.

I am responsible for most recently reviving the Brief Description thread. Sorry! At least that one has gotten as long as it is without a lot of bitching and bickering (I think, I never did read the whole thing) and THAT is what makes a thread undesirable to me. A thread could be only two pages, but if it's full of venom and other nastiness, then it's already too long.

I'm killing time at work (don't worry, the owner is my father - sort of anyways) and stumbled on this thread (which is geting dangerously long KillerMuff). But in particular the comment that posts should only be ten words? Damn I juss posted something that hadda be 500 words. Am I going overboard? boring everyone to tears?

and plus, do threads ever go away? I was (or maybe still am) involved in some that have just stopped. Who decides when it's over? the mysterious Laurel?

Why should the "what the hell" thread disappear into oblivion? It's no better or worse than a lot of the threads here. As long as the posters keep their posts there,(which they have) and don't start a new topic with every thought they have, i don't understand the problem. True, it has evolved from the original topic, but in all honesty don't 90% of the posts do that? My suggestion: if you don't like the thread, don't open it. Simple. At least to me. I do it all the time.
