I don't get why they are called " Reality TV ".

What is real about 16 people on a island somewhere trying to win a million dollars ?

Or how ever many people living together in a house a voting people out every week ?

Real life is boring usually for most of us. Not so much boring, but constant. I wish I could vote people out of my house sometimes. I wish I could go to some exotic local and get 1 mil for putting up with backstabbing, lying, strangers.

And Joe Millionaire ? Come on .... some guy tells me he is a millionaire and wants to marry me ? I am hiring a PI to investigate him and find out what his real deal is.

I think it means, there's no script.

Anything could happen.

But I get your point, they're a little out there.

I don't watch any of those reality tv shows. Reality kicks me in the ass every day.

Reality TV, was Romper Room. They didn't tell us kids what to do, or say. They just turned on the cameras, let the hostess do her thing, MAYBE with a script, but us kids did whatever the hell we wanted to do, and it made for good TV, dammit!

There's no such thing as reality TV anymore. Andy Warhol was right, sooner or later EVERYONE will get their 15 minutes of fame. I'm glad mine are so far in the past there there's not much more evidence than the few photographs I have.
