Real objects featuring in your stories

I assume it wasn't a convertible? My dad had a 1968 Pontiac Bonnevile which shows up (or is at least mentioned) in a few stories. It was olive-green like this one, except his had the body rust which cars in the the snow-belt (lots of road salt) were prone to. Yes, they did offer a convertible version back then but those weren't common.

No, just the standard coupe. Fire engine red, no power steering, no power brakes. Hell of a car to drive in 1990/91

In chapters 2 & 3 of 'Why did we have to be cousins' there is a reference to a Triumph TR6 that i was the original owner, and still have sitting in my garage. The engine has over 250,000 miles on it. It was fun.

You don't usually notice the lack of power steering until you're trying to parallel park it or something like that. I found that out when I lost the power steering fluid hose on a Volkswagen Golf for a couple of months. I don' know what the lack of power brakes feels like.

I wanted a late '60's Mustang convertible to drive around in the Hamptons (or Montauk actually). It was a nice fantasy at the age of fourteen or so.
