So obviously writing something and putting it online automatically invites a great deal of criticism and I have a fairly thick skin and reasonable expectations about my works...but I was AMAZED by the negative and honestly brutal feedback I heard about some "loving wives" stories I had posted...is that a normal response for that category?

Sadly it is for the Loving Wives. Mostly it is aimed at what the poster sees as cheating by the wife. I looked at the comments on one of your stories and honestly they was not as bad as some I've seen. No one wished you'd get AIDS and die nor did they hope for the same thing for your characters.

There seems to be a group of trolls who specialize in pissing on many of the LW stories and insulting the author. In my estimation some may believe in the high moral standards they espouse while others just do it because there is no retribution and they garner some attention.

If you are going to continue to write and post, especially in the LW, you need to have a thick skin and remember "Don't feed the trolls."

Haha! Ok fair enough... I know it's a real "niche" category anyway but i didnt expect the level of vehemence I saw... anyway I appreciate you taking the time to go look and review.

There is a thread in the Authors Hangout called Stories I Think have One Bombed that may interest you. There are dozens of threads about the the problems with post in the LW Cat. Even some of the better writers here stay far away from there.
