The thing about elections, or polls is that they never really give you the best answers to choose from. Now I don't mean to disparage the choices of stories above, and ultimately it comes down to a matter of taste. Some people just like the color red and others prefer the color blue; or maybe a better analogy might be -- some people like Hostess Twinkies and others like Chocolate Moose. It's not always the most popular things in the world that are the most worthy.
As I stand alone in my voting booth and look over the choices I'm continually drawn to an unlisted writer. She's fairly new but she writes with the power and force that is rarely seen here. She brings a truthfulness, in her writer's voice that deserves a look from any discriminating reader. Sure, I realize I'm throwing my vote away, but I don't care. If I could turn one reader on to her, it would be worth it.
