After reading Lit for many years I have decided to put my hands on the keyboard and create my own story. An idea for a short story has turned into 8 chapters of what may in the future be known as the greatest writing in all of history. But probably not. Before asking for edits I have a question that I wish to ask here, maybe causing some useful board discussion.
The device I am using now, and the one I am concerned about, is switching back and forth between two sets of characters engaged with each other at different locations but within the same time frame. Specifically, four adult children are at one house, while their four parents are at another house. The chapters of the story go from one house to another and our linked in time by some literary device. (ie a phone call)
Do you think this could work if I am careful?
