Re: Phone cards

I just picked me up a brand new Sprint 60 minutes phone card in order to call someone special... *grin*

My question is: Can I use this from my home phone and not have it show up on the phone bill?

Anyone?

I need people who know - who've done this - not speculation, please. Thanks.

It will not show up on your bill. In any way.

I'm not positive, but I don't think it does. You have to dial a 1800 number first, right? so if anything shows up, it would be that number.

again, I'm not sure.

Thanks you both for replying...

It would be hard to explain to the man why I'm calling another country, even though my intentions are squeaky clean. ;)

If the man calls your phone company, they can give him a full call record of every number dialed from your phone, including in many cases what are called "dial-arounds".

Same for incoming calls.

If you aren't doing anything wrong.. why are you wanting to hide the phone call?

:)

My organization keeps such records, but only analyzes them after being alerted.

We'll be watching.

Now.

Ah! So it's you..

Does Dixon know you are the root of all Lit problems? Or is that a secret? ;)

I'd just rather not have to deal with it right now. In his current frame of mind, he wouldn't understand.

If you want the whole story, I'll be happy to tell you, but it'll have to be in private.

I see I've made too much of a deal over nothing now. At least the Sprint minutes are cheaper than my regular long-distance!

Thanks all for your advice.

Except you, Dixon. You scare me.

;)

No thanks.. No offense.. but if it has to be done in private it's really none of my business.

You have your reasons and I respect that. I was just wondering why you would say that it was "squeky clean" but yet you didn't want your SO to find out you called someone.

To me.. sneaking a phone call isn't being squeky clean. But we all have our ideas of what is right and wrong.

No, phone cards do not show up on your phone bill. Good Luck

:)

Exactly what I was thinking. Thanks for the advice.

If you're calling overseas you won't get to use the full 60 mins. Just a warning.:)

Also...Sam's Club has the cheapest phone cards I've found. 3.7 cents a minute. Although that amount is tripled if you call the UK.

Sams here is 3.47 cents per minute, IF you can get it there, if not, the same is 7 cents per minute at Walmart.

Anyone who says it shows up on your phone bill, obviously has never used a phone card. Anyone who wants to rag on people for what they use their phone cards for, is an idiot.

In my local convience marts they have $.01 cent cards. The only thing is that they have a 45 minute (or cent) connection fee. They are great if you're doing long calls and not a lot of them b/c you can get them in like $20 dollar amounts. If you wnat to do a lot of short calls get the 3.7 or 7 cent cards from walmart or sams.
