re-editing older work

That's fine from this end, I'm sure. Not from Amazon's end if you leave a version on here for free. Of course that way you've destroyed at least some of its profit value. I do it the other way around--publish it to the marketplace and in some distant time post a version here (and elsewhere).

I'm no expert in this self publishing lark, but I think the only time Amazon demand exclusive rights is on Kindle Unlimited, which as far as I can tell is a sort of lending library.

I have the same experience. When I first began writing for Lit. eight years ago, I just thought I'd tosss some of my old stuff on there and write a few new ones just to see what would happen. I had no idea at the time what a serious undertaking publishing on Lit. was. Going back, none of the stories are terrible, but most could use an edit.

My problem is, I have readers clamoring for continuation of two series, a long novel, to work on, excerpts from which comprise some of those stories, and more good stuff to write. My doctor has told me to prepare for the end o my life, so I just don't have time to fuck around with going back. I do sincerely wish I could find a good editor, though.

MY advice, forge ahead, look back only to see where you have been.

Amazon has a general policy of not charging a buyer any more for a work than is offered by any other distributor. When Literotica is offering a work for zero cost and Amazon learns about it, they are going to zero out the cost of that work on Amazon too--and then, eventually, drop it, because it isn't making them any money to carry it.
