Yes, I know that about the only thing that rats have in common with dragons that the Chinese have named years after them. However, having just slain two of these, literally, with a sword (as I didn't care to get any closer to them and use my field knife) and thus made my SO very much more relaxed in the process (she has a horrid fear of rodents), I must admit to being inordinately proud of myself. Don't worry, my hubris won't last. Considering my recent depression, however, I'm in no rush to lose my new ego boost.

Rats smell bad, man. Good going.

Tell me about it. I got a crash course, not having dealt with the filthy vermin before. Let's just say that they are as bad as possums and bats.

Dragons are rodents?
That would explain the big teeth.

Do you have a problem with dragons? I think they're a protected species. You might get into trouble for killing them. I didn't know they were rodents, either.

LOL... bloody dangerous for passers by I'd think as well.

I get rid of them with a .22 air rifle, also bloody dangerous for passers by the eyesight aint what it used to be.

410 shotguns do the trick pretty well. Works for snakes, anyway. ;)

I don't need a man for that kind of thing, thank goodness.

I prefer the sporting element of a single shot, if I'm good enough to hit them they die... if I aint, they live :D I used to be able to put a .22 through a bamboo garden cane at 20 paces, (open sights), not so sure now though as I'd hit a tree :D

.410's good for poaching though, nice and light weight specially if cut down, and not quite as noisey as a 12 bore to wake the village ;)

*note to self: remember bullet proof vest when visiting the (friendly)redskin*

Roaches are my hated vermin of choice. Don't care for spiders and rats much, but roaches will die. I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning one time trying to get to a roach that hid deep inside one of the cabinets. And I got him.

I sometimes leave the bodies of my slain enemies laying about in various poses as a warning to other roaches who enter my home.

*snort snicker*

Rats are escorted outside, if they get past the Herd that is.

Spiders are flattened where ever they are found, the same for roaches.

Snakes are given a loving trip to the outside, and if they are found outside they are merely given a loving pat. (Unless of course they are rattlers, they become a snack.)

Racoons though will be killed on sight. I loath the little monsters. (The only animals I dislike more are called Hell Hounds.)

Cat

No BB guns here. Just a knife and a sword. Since the knife would require too close a proximity to the rats when I killed them, that left the sword.

And I was jokingly comparing rodents to dragons. Too bad the former aren't as mythical as the latter. :D Luckily, rats aren't protected. :D

I was looking for an excuse to use the sword anyway, without harming any people. Luckily, rats aren't people, though some politicians remind me of rats.
