It's all about perception
We all think we have the truth

They're both important. Perception is revealing of motivation and filter. With enough samples of someone's perception you can see how they view reality, what their confirmation bias is, and what their weaknesses and strengths are. You can see how much they confront reality or comfort themselves by hedging reality.

Online it's a circus. In reality it's the real work of getting down to business and seeing who will get down to business and who will make up an excuse.

There really is truth.

If you doubt it strike your lighter and hold it against your skin to convince yourself that the law of heat flow is truth. The flame wont get cooler.

Or place your hand in a candle flame, and get back to us.

This is you looking out. Turn that scope of your inwards now and answer.

But what if I have a neural disorder due to which my brain cannot differentiate between the hot or cold signal?

Absolutely.

But if you were to dig deeper, how did you establish that your perception is in fact true?

Do you go by popular consensus or do you some acid test for getting at the truth?

I deal more in fact. Things you can weigh. Truth is like air. It all depends on which way the wind is blowing.

But what if I have a neural disorder due to which my brain cannot differentiate between the hot or cold signal?

Then you have a neural disorder. If I toss a dead cat off a bridge the bridge doesn't care, the damage is the same.

But how do you get to the truth when everything is tainted by human perception?

You're exactly right
Are there irrefutable truths?
I doubt it
Though wars, altercations and resentments are fueled by our belief that truth is absolute

It applies to me as well. I try to give up things I "must" believe in.

For instance, I was inherently born with a sense of "needing to save the world" and believing that reincarnation was 100% deal and I remembered all these previous experiences and I wondered WHY for a very long time.

Took me a long time to work out that regardless of that actual reality, it doesn't have as much real application as I might like and after working on the idea that reincarnation and purpose were inherent, I gave them up as ideals and struggled with the sense of placelessness and chaos and limited existence.

I used to think that migraines were "disturbances in the force" essentially and that my physical being reflected the overall state of the universe and needing to be healed. I gave that up and focused on "chaotically broken brain for no reason"

Basically I over identified and took too much responsibility with too little understanding, so I gave up the ideas as necessities. It was a really tough thing to do because I wasn't "taught" it but it was just there when I was born.

So for me it's about not lying, not being overly responsible and not being overly authoritative. It has served me better over time because I gave up ultimate hope of reward or purpose, but gained "now" as being more important to my story.

There is truth and unicorns. Perceptions aren't the opposition of truth.

Go try the candle experiement, and let us know if the flame or you got burned.
