I believe that Real Player will play that file. Do a google search and you should find a free download.

.RAM is a file type linked to RealPlayer (or the alternative Cyberski suggested) However, I believe it's VIDEO file format rather than an audio only format -- it's a "Real Audio Movie."

I've only encountered RAM files as streaming audio and video and never been able to play one locally -- but the I don't upgrade everytime a new version is released for anything and avoid all of the RealPlayer formats when I can.

That's because a RAM file isn't an actual media file. From what I can tell, an RAM file is nothing more than a *link* to another RealMedia file, stored elsewhere. When you try to play the RAM file, it follows the link to the real media file and plays THAT instead.

What's the purpose of this, you might ask? Simple...it forces the player to stream instead of download. By hiding the real media file elsewhere and only linking to it via the RAM file, the provider effectively prevents users from knowing the path to the media file itself, thus preventing anyone from downloading/leeching it.
