Any advice on how to get mud out of carpet aside from letting it dry and vacuuming it up?
It's raining really hard and rain is coming in through the top of the sliding glass door, spraying all over the living room. Then at the bottom of it mud is seeping through. UGH..
No wonder I am still awake.
This storm is crazy, I feel like I'm back in Texas... Guess God sent it to get me ready for being in Austin lol...

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

LOL.. I'm sitting here laughing because it's actually funny. I moved the couch into the kitchen and all of my art work is off the walls now and in the bedroom...
NOt much else I can do lol..

I'd suggest getting a good wet vac or if you know someone with a Kirby and the carpet cleaning attachments. You could rent one of those carpet cleaner's from a store that will vacuum up the water, but not very many of them I recommend. Don't call a carpet cleaner with the truck mounted units, they don't have much suction (the longer the hose is, the less they can get out.)

Other than that, lots of towels......but your best bet is a really powerful wet vac.

Moon (yes I used to clean carpets.)

I think I am going to try filling a trash bag with kitty litter and pushing it up against the door to act as a sand bag. Good thing I have a brand new bag of it.

LOL.. I only have one friend here in this town and I know she doesn't have one. LOL.. I guess I will have to take the bus to wal-mart tomorrow and rent a rug doctor or something.

This is funny

I love rain.

The sound of rain drumming on a tin roof, me curled up all nice and cosy inside on a deep couch with a soft rug and an old movie on tv. Perhaps someone special, a little red wine.

Wind howling through the trees outside, kicking up the leaves and whipping in through the cracks.

But perhaps this is not the time to share :)

I actually love storms. It's really obvious too when you look at a roleplay area that I belong to. Half my characters have weather related names lol.
Growing up we used to sit on the wooden bench on the front porch and watch the storms come in. I love watching lightening from a distance though I have a healthy fear of it from two very close calls in recent years. Tornadoes.. Grew up with them (I lived in Texas for 20 years). They are about the only force of nature that bothers me. I had a friend that died in the big tornado in Jarrell, Tx a few years ago.
Ever seen plasma or ball lightening? You haven't lived till you have seen that. It's wierd. It's like a soccer ball sized ball of fire shooting through the sky. If it hits pavement it will roll and disappear..
