One thing that the Seattle area seems to have a lot of.

I love them, love the sound, the energy that seems to be flowing around me as the wind blows and the water pounds down.

Yesterday there was a break in the storm where some beautiful rainbows went across the sky, it was amazing. I haven't seen any for many years.

Today I curled up on the floor with my kitty, lots of pillows, and my big comforter in front of the big sliding glass door that goes out to my patio. I watched the rain and listened to the wind howl. At one point it came down hard enough that the sound seemed to be echoing off the walls and ceilings of my little condo.

It was wonderful. Though one more addition would have made it perfect.

Anyways, just some random thoughts.

Please send some rain to Colorado. I know we over built and have way too many golf courses. We are really sorry. Truly. Now send the rain. Thanks.

ahhh.. I'm sorry Saint, I can't do that.

BUT.. when I'm driving cross country in a couple months I'll bring you a bucket of rainwater!!.. hows that? :D

It mus be a west coast thing, Zaudika. I love listening to it from a cosy bed.
We have big trees and it sounds like rain long after it's stopped as it drips down from the trees.

Summer storms are fun to watch.

That would be wonderful. Please make sure the bucket will hold 31254543256124612459846 gallons. Thanks again.

Ooh yes... definitely. We have trees a plenty here, and listening to it drip down afterwards is just as wonderful.
The whole storm from start to finish is like listening to some kind of a musical. I believe they did something kind of like it in that movie from Fantasia, comparing a rainstorm to music. I loved that part.

It is beautiful, I love it here. Very soon though I'll be going to explore the East coast, and from what I've seen, its beautiful there too.

I had to work today, but I have a skylight right over my desk. I got to listen to a lovely rainstorm. I could hear the rain and wind. It was beautiful, but it made me wish I was at home curled up on the couch with a warm blanket and a good book.

You forgot the smell.....

Of the wet Evergreen Trees, the grass, and the clean wind.
What's neat is opening the window a bit at night, and snuggling into bed with all the blankees, and falling asleep to the raindrops.

Yes!.. :) I love it to be really chilly in my bedroom anyways and to be snuggled under lots and lots of blankets.

I live in Reno, NV...the state with the absolute least amount of rain...When I was 18, I lived on the Southwest coast of England, and it rained constantly. It was so beautiful, everything smelled so fresh and it was so green. I miss it terribly. One of life's greatest indulgences is to curl up on a rainy day with a great novel, a cup of tea and no sound but the rain falling outside...Pure Heaven

Ummm, if only it was raining here

I would be ecstatic if it was raining here....instead I have 5 inches of snow that is covering 3 inches of ice. *sigh*

Slipping and Sliding in Cincinnati...

Inner child...

I get crap from people because I still like to walk in puddles, and splash them if they whine too much about it.
Reminds me when I was a little LC, yellow rain jacket and hat, with red boots...quack, quack! I grew up in Oregon, an equal, but warmer state than Washington. (by about +10 degrees)

i was outside near seattle center earlier and the cold wind carrying the rain into my face was a delight! i love how it cleans up the air. I saw the same break in storms but couldn't see the rainbows from the apartment...I am sure they were wonderful!
Watching the storm with your cats sounds familiar. We do the same thing on sunny days...all crowd into a sun spot on the rug.

BF loves them hehe his name is rain stormbringer

he loves rain storms. Thunder to.. He finds them exciting and erotic and just wonderful LOL  He wants to have sex in the rain

LC - those people who give you crap just don't understand. I love to pounce in puddles on certain days, and always drive through them. lol.

mck - I love those sun spot days also.. haven't really had much of those recently though.. :)

Pixie - The idea of sex in the rain is an amazing turn on to me. As is I love to play in the shower, love the feel of the water coursing down my body. In the rain.. the fresh coolness meeting with the heat of passion. Mmmmmm.... lovely thought.

As was mentioned a few times before... the freshness and clean smell the rain always brings is wonderful.
