does anyone else collect them?.....Christopher Radko has made a fortune selling his hand blown glass wonders....and Polonaise just has such detail in theirs....beautiful....

i've been getting several each year for about 7-8 years.....i just love them....they're great with the white lights on my tree....and so much fun to collect.....

i just ordered this one today...Radko Undersea Holiday:

yay!....<lil fisties going>....now....they only had one...i want it...but i want to get the turtle one, too....i shall have to search further online....;)

i've got lots of santas and traditional christmasy type ones....but also some disney and other character type ones....after the lil miracle was born....our tree turned from just a really pretty one....to one with lots of kid ornaments...still pretty, but with Kermit, Woody, Raggedy Ann, etc. included....i mix the glass ornaments in with every color glass ball known to man....zillions of white lights....ornaments that used to be on my parents' christmas tree (Mom finally wised up several years back, got herself a small tree and divided all of her ornaments in 3 for each of the kids).....ribbon is tucked in here and there....a big bow on top.....with a hand-sequined skirt my grandmother made around the trunk.....

back to the Radko/Polonaise ornaments....they make great gifts for anyone you know that loves christmas....there are zillions of designs....traditional....whimsy....just fun....

Waterford and Lenox both have lines of glass ornaments as well now....the Bombay Company also has some cool ones....i'm never as concerned with the brand....as i am with the beauty of the ornament.....

here are some other fun ones out this year:

oh i really want this one....Radko "Legend of the Fall"

LOL

You are absolutely adorable, baby. I love it!

Do you have any of the ones you posted (he asked innocently)?

MY TURTLE....mineeeeeee....i had to order it....;)

i don't have any of the other ones....so manyyy out there....going to look for a few more....the Polonaise Peanuts ones are cool..and Disney usually gets Radko to design an ornament each year....

OOh Ginny...sheesh another thing I adore about you. I don't collect them but I do give them to my stepmother who does. Her tree is entirely handmade glass ornaments from all over the world. Tons of Radko from bronners.com which are from me. She is big into traditions and I buy her various symbolic ornaments...the green pickle was a favorite of all the kids. It is a German tradition...the child who finds it first on the tree gets a special treat. Actually all get something...but it is a fun event to behold. And the tree is just gorgeous. I love going over all the ornaments with her reliving her memories for each.

This year the pickle will have a whole new meaning for me.

I don't collect these specific types of ornaments, but I do buy a new ornament each year. Something my grandma started (one for the entire house, and one for each member), my mother continued, and now I will as well. When I moved out of the house, my mom had bought an ornament for me every year since I was born. She gave them all to me that day. I've kept up the tradition, and plan to give ornaments to my children when I have them.

Yes, yes, yes!

I collect them too, Ginny. I have several mini-collections. I was really into the Coca-Cola bear one year, so I have a few of those. I have the entire Wizard of Oz set.

Oh, and I have every single Radko Millennium ornament that was made, including the now rare Times Square (they had to take the words "Times Square" off for some reason or another. I actually have an extra of these and would be more than pleased to give it to a fellow collector if you feel comfortable giving me an address to send it to.

Sadly, my handsome Frog Prince was laid to rest after an untimely death (first year on the tree) due to then two year old twins.

How crazy are we to collect $50 ornaments with little ones running around? ;-)

Ginny, have you tried Ebay for these? There was a time that I was rather addicted to bidding and I got some really great ornaments that were otherwise difficult to find.

I love unpacking my ornament boxes each year, because I forget which ones I have or how stunningly rich in color and detail they are. Plus, there's the new ones bought after Christmas last year that haven't even been displayed yet.

Fun thread. :)

oh MsV...that is so cool....i love getting any kind of ornament....i let the lil miracle pick some out each year now...so we've got some really lovely ;) ones hanging out in the back of the tree....

she loves decorating the tree....i let her help me hang most of them....then after she goes to bed...i do a lil re-adjusting....so much fun....:)

Bath and Body Works had Radko design a Santa in a bubble bath ornament for them this year. It's currently 1/2 off with a $35 purchase ($25 instead of $50). It's pretty cute, and selling like mad at the store I work at.

Yayyyyyy Ruby!....<smiling big>....i knew there had to be another Radko fanatic on the board....they are so beautiful.....i haven't really gotten into the collecting side....you know like keeping up with year issued and stuff....but wow on all those millennium ones....i've seen them....they are incredible...and major green eyes at the whole Wizard of Oz set...i haven't bought any sets...just 'cause they're so damn expensive.....groovy boxes too....;)

yikes on the Frog Prince...we had an accident two years ago with a Disney Radko...Lady and The Tramp...it broke right at the hook part...i tried rigging it...failed...so now i just set it on a branch....this past year she was reallyyyy careful with them...and it's part of the fun...but mannn...the wincing as she handles them....her second christmas...i just lined bottom of tree with plastic balls....;)

I heart you, my little masturbating aardvark. :)

Do you ever get your Radko and Polonaise mixed up? I do. I think I started with Radko because of the name but I couldn't help but linger over and touch the Polonaise while I was browsing. Soon, she too had my heart and soul.

I love my Betty Boop in the bathtub with all the bubbles and I also adore my Peanuts on the sled.

I simply am powerless over this pull, this evil addiction.

:)

Good thing I realized I could get them 1/2 price the day after Christmas, which means I can buy twice as much!

lol......i do get them mixed up...when i'm grabbing for the boxes to put them up....and love them equally as you do...sometimes when i get one as a gift...the giver will be kinda like...it's not a Radko....and i'm like...omg....it doesn't matter!

and hooray on the sales....best way to buy unless they're a gift.....:)

it's gonna be a sad day...when i get too many....either i get another tree......or...horror......have to rotate years...lol.....

turtle is really into them now, too......i got him the Radko turtle doves last year....and we found a great Rooster for his mom earlier today....it is quite addictive....

night night sweet Ruby...:)

Good night, Ginny.

I'm with you on the maker now. I even like the cheapo Target glass ornaments. After the unfortunate demise of Mr. Frog Prince, I decided to buy the cheap Disney ones at Target after Christmas for next to nothing. They're heavy, but perfect for the lower branches that the under 4' group can reach. :)

Look Ruby. I said I was sorry about Mr. Frog Prince. What more do you want from me? Damn Mr. Frog Prince screwed up my Christmas last year after you boxed my ears and called me a 'dumbass.' What more can a Saint do?
