I recently heard a term that was new to me - RACK - which I was told was an acronym for Risk Accepting Consensual Kink.

Has anyone else heard this term?

Does this mean that the bottom accepts all risks and the top is exonerated from any harm that may occur to the bottom?

Your thoughts please.

I've read discussions with RACK meaning Risk AWARE Consensual Kink. The theory is that some activities aren't truly safe or sane and the parties are aware of that and the risks involved.

The bottom and top both are aware of the risks and choose to proceed with the activity, taking precautions to eliminate the danger where they feel necessary.

Here is a thread we had discussing the RACK concept. You might find some information in it and new commentary is a good thing.

i hope it helps answer some questions you may have.

As for my comments, it is a concept that embraces the fact that some activities practiced by BDSMers have a risk level that may not be labled as ssc.

I had heard it used to describe blood letting, as this was given an example of how some practices are not sane.

I must admit that it would be very hard to qualify what is and isnt sane in a objective fashion. Insanity being a spectrum that we all reside in from time to time.
