Russell Johnson, the actor best know for his role as the 'Professor' on 'Gilligan's Island' died at his home Thursday January 16th. He was 89 and passed with his family around him, from natural causes.
Very rarely do I tear up at the news of the death of an actor, but this news did just that. They are like the rest of us only human after all. None of us get out of this story alive.
I have so very many childhood memories of sitting in front of the TV watching this wonderful man trying his best to get rescued, only to have everything his mind could cook up go south because of Gilligan.
He was a wonderful comedic actor who starred in hundreds of other things but the whole world will always remember him not by his name... but as the Professor.
