What is the point of quoting posts of several hundred words to reply with one sentence?

In a long serious discussion one could justify such a thing but as a casual reply toa thread with 4 posts, of which all reply to the initial post, its just plain dumb.

Nothing wrong with this:

Username,

Wow . I struggle with this question everyday but in the end I have to say that I think its just wrong.

This is how I handle it.

yakyakyak, more bullshit

..... its just wrong.

You have part of the quote for reference, without all that boring text slowing everything down. Perfect.

dramatic effect silly.

You quote to awoid confusion... that's my opinion ...easyer to read a single post without looking for what it refering to

I usually quote what's relevant.

However, sometimes it's effective to quote a lengthy post and then have a one-line quip about how bullshit it is.

Yeah..

So that the flow of conversation continues? If I post something about... I don't know garter belts someone replies to it and adds how they could be worn with blah blah blah, the you come along and want to reply but in a different vein then quoting's a good thing. removing the un-related junk is a good Idea, but it never bothers me that people don't.

oh and Jersey's hot.

Yes, why?

Something you had posted, or had as a sig/location/title (I can't even remember now), about a week ago made me wonder, and I had meant to ask you but forgot. Your sig today made me remember, that's all.

Not a big deal - I guess I just assumed you were American. Where are you from - if you dont mind me asking?

I only answered yes to see why you would ask.

I'm from Vermont, not Canada. The Canadian stuff in my sig is there only because its the closest country without a death penalty so the statistics can be somewhat applicable.

Oh. Well it wasn't just because of this sig - there was something a little while ago that I had wondered about. If my brain wasn't swiss cheese, I'd be able to tell you what. :)

Thanks for the honesty.

I tend to get horny for people that live close to me. Canada's a little too big to get that excited over nationality.

What is the point of quoting pictuire posts?
There is no point. You see it once, no need to see it again.

Lit users do it because they're not real- they're just morons- disguising themselves as intellegent posters behind how well they can type.
