"Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way"

"Your mind tricked you to feel the pain/ of someone close to you leaving the game... of life"

"My name's John Lee (?) Pettimore/ Same as my Daddy and his Daddy before"

"Her name was Magill and she called herself Lil, but everyone knew her as Nancy"

"Landmine has taken my sight, taken my speech, taken my hearing, taken my arms, taken my legs, taken my soul, left me with life in Helllllll!!!"

"Now I don't mind chopping wood, an' I don't care if my money's no good. You take what you need and you leave the rest. But they should never have taken the very best"

"It's another empty bottle, oooh and another empty bed ain't too young to admit it, but I'm not too old to lie, I'm just another empty head."

"She said 'Thank God you're here, he tried to hurt me Mama.' I said 'You can't mean...' He said 'that's right, the girl is seventeen"

Try to guess the names of the singers/groups and the song titles. If you guess five or more, you win

The first is Time, by Pink Floyd. The second is Silent Lucidity, by Queensryche (One of my all time favourite songs, but not that famous. I was surprised to see it here.) Fifth is One, by Metallica.

The Queensryche song, along with Jet City Woman, are the only two songs from that grouop you ever hear on the radio around here...it is one of my favorite songs ever

Fun game.

Copperhead Road - Steve Earle
(GREAT song)

"Now I don't mind chopping wood, an' I don't care if my money's no good. You take what you need and you leave the rest. But they should never have taken the very best"

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down - i don't know who originally wrote this but it's been done by a bunch of people. I remember it most clearly, most poignantly, when Joan Baez did it.
