quilting out of context

My mom quilts. She made me a quilt for my birthday last year. An Amish design.

I love my mom. :)

I've quilted my fair share. I've quilted and it has always been in context.

That quilt, yes, is out of context.

WheW! I am relieved! You'll find dust and dead flies on my window sill! :)

I think someone took a little trip through Amish country and forgot to pay for the context.

The more I look at those pears, the freakier they get. Aren't they a little too orange?

It's even more odd that there is only one of those horribly uncomfortable Victorian shoes sitting by the bed. What is the person who has the other one doing with it?

Hey, we've got our share of Amish here in Ohio too..heh.

I have a different theory. They're NOT pears. They're alien eggs trying to signal their mothership...

Uncomfortable, probably (I haven't tried..hehe) but damn sexy don't you think?

What garments are under the rumpled up quilt??? That's what I'm trying to imagine.

Heh, our Amish are so weird. It's like they're not sure exactly what Amish people really do.

If you venture out further than Lancaster (yeah right) you'll find some hardcore farm loving Amish who probably don't even use toilet paper and apparently don't like if you ask to get your picture taken with them.

Amish out of Context

Let's not forget that there is quite a range in the strictness of observance.

I've seen some Mennonite communities where everyone uses the horse and black buggy, and others where they used cars, but all painted flat black, over the bright-work, badges, nameplates, etc.

You'd think if they can afford the quilt, they could afford a little paint to slap on that chair, wouldn't you?

Quilting is an aberration to God.

Somebody should get gasoline and set that damned thing aflame.

Glam my dear, when will you realize that I was made to fit between the men in your av? I'll be over at ten.

There would be no B&Bs without the "country cutesy" look.

There would be no "country cutesy" look without the Amish.

Ergo, there would be no B&Bs without the Amish.

Amen, brother. Ditto for the awful twig wreath on the wall.

I thought the thread title read, "guilting out of context."

Now that would have been something I could relate to.
