Quills

Maybe I'm not thinking of spirit as much as I'm thinking of will.

Will and ego... maybe that's what it's about for some.

It's too damned early to think this hard. ;-)

(Normally, I just go with what feels right and pleasurable for me and I don't spend time questioning it. Life is too short for that, to my way of thinking.)
Find the first movie i posted up there ADR...i rented it from netflix, dont know if a regular video rental place would have it. You will see the meaning of destroyer of womens spirits... and what it meant to him, in a very romantic kinda way (at least it was a romantic way to me lol). I dont wanna give away the movie if you are wanting to see it or i would explain.

Okay.

I have to run do lots of errands today... I'll think on this more and maybe stop off at this one store that carries movies like this.

How do I answer that? mmmm....

I don't get enough of it. It's a really big part of my sexual appetite that does not seem to get fed often enough or well enough.

i figured as much... you're definitely a candidate and there's nothing wrong with it at all. :)

Fight the damned box, it's all about what makes one happy.

Thanks for the link. Wish I had one that wasn't pdf stuff that you can't copy. I had one at one time.

No problem... all i did was Google Marquis De Sade, took about 3 seconds. :)

i'm quite sure there are other formats, i just didn't have the time to invest then.

No, had a bit of a snafu with the vanilla world finding them and deleted both threads. Not all that thrilled with my newly rounding body so i doubt more will be forthcoming til after the baby. Never know though. :)

That's wonderful news, bound!

I couldn't find that movie today... I think I'll do some amazon searching tonight. And I could do the old fashioned thing and check out a book at the library. ;-)

Thank you!! If nothing else, they may have it on audio.

You might want to check out ebay and half.com as well....

Half.com has good prices on used movies and books! and does amazon.com.;)

I saw this movie a few months back. It wasn't at all like I thought it would be. I thought it would be a bit more upbeat. It was interesting though. The various characters hold your interest. Only real complaint was that it was far too long. It was getting to the end and I was saying to myself "get ON with it already!"

Thanx for the flick tips, ADR.
When I was at my local vid store the other day I saw both Quills and Secretary; Having just read about both in your posts, I picked both up and brought them home.
Secretary was a brilliant film, in my opinion. The metamorphosis of Lee as she depends less on her 'addiction' and more on E. Edward is brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and want to add it to my collection. *smile* when I'm longing for a Sir's touch....

Quills was a more intense sort of film and gave me a greater understanding into the de Sadie's life and perhaps mind. Who knows?
The acting was superb as was the settings. Bravo!

Thank you again for your suggestions :rose:

~kym~ any more suggestions??

I liked Secretary but I didn't like the implications regarding her mental illness. As you know very well, not all submissives are submissives because of past traumas or illnesses. Many of us are just wired this way. In some ways, that movie made it appear that she was replacing one type of illness with another (as in her submission to Edward.) I might not be explaining myself very well and I apologize if I'm not being clear or understood.

I didn't find Quills to be as erotic or pornographic as my friend told me it was. I guess there's a big difference in our opinions of porn. ;-) I did like the movie though.

I am going to do that this week while I'm off work.

And yes, BrightFlower... I kinda felt the same way about it. It was kinda long. And not enough erotica for me. LOL

My thoughts were sort of along the same vein.

I got the impression that all she needed to get well was find a Domly Dude who said "stop." I didn't like the whole image that she was waiting for Mr. Good Dom to make all that icky mental illness go away. This isn't at all realistic, and mentally ill persons don't get well because someone says stop and waves a magic riding crop and makes it disappear. However, I always thought of a D/s relationship as a symbiotic one, that each person needs something the other can give so their happiness kind of feeds each other. While it was cool to see that sort of relationship portrayed, the "magic" way her illness was cured felt wrong to me.

Okay, so that's not at all close to what ADR said. But it was her thought that led me thinking to that point tonight. Sorry if I'm making even less sense than usual.

No, I think you said it very well. We are all a compilation of many things and experiences in our lives. That's what makes us what we are and what we continue to become... we are constantly evolving.

I actually didn't mind that. I thought she found a positive outlet for her passions, instead of spilling back over into "mental illness".

But then I'm not submissive, so I guess I have a different viewpoint.

Makes a mental note to spend more time humiliating that fucking little slut ADR...

Breaking a woman's spirit

I like some mental humiliation of a woman. If I know she gets off on it. And if it's in private.

I don't see it so much as "breaking her spirit" as pushing her into a zone where she can only be taken, but wants to experience.

Breaking her would leave her, well, broken. And after a good humiliation scene, a slut is more glowing and envigorated than "broken".

Or am I missing something?
