Quiet Vibe?

Hello, I'm a little new here so apologies if this has been asked before I did have a look to see but couldn't find anything (it's more likely I'm a little inept than the question not having actually been asked >.<) however, I digress...

I've just started university but am sharing accommodation. I've only just turned 18 but have been shopping around online looking for my first vibrator since I was 17 ^___^. I'm desperate to get a rampant rabbit because my friend raves about hers.

I've only ever been with one person and all my orgasms have been self administrated but I've been able to keep quiet which is quite lucky (though it might not be the case assuming I will have the ability to adjust the intensity of stimulation upon obtaining vibe. Eek!). I'm more worried about the actual noise the vibe it's self makes.

I contemplated getting a bullet or a love egg or something similar because I'm told they're quite quiet but I really love the feeling of being filled so I'm mostly looking for something to simulate penetration, though maybe not too daunting as I'm a vibe virgin teehee. I'm willing to compromise my rabbit preference for silence :3

My question is thus: are there any good vibes out there that are dildo shaped, are a decent price and make a low level of noise? Are they any good for beginners?

Again, apologies if this has already been posted - redirection would be appreciated. Thank you ^____^ <3

The Lelo brand I've found to be very quiet. I've only got experience with their "Nea" and "Gigi", if I recall the latter's name correctly. Both made excellent gifts and the girlfriends concerned didn't have any complaints about noise, and had the same noise concerns you did. The "Nea" won't do what you want, that's purely designed for clitoral stimulation.

Consider this, though: under the sheets with a pillow over your center, you can dampen most of the noise a vibrator makes. From there it's pretty easy to mask any remaining noise with music in the background. Could end up getting your rabbit after all with that methodology. Sorry I can't be of more help; I don't gift GFs with toys all that often (only when there's a LD phase in the relationship and thankfully that has not been the case as of late) and I haven't heard of a rabbit-style vibe that's renowned for being quiet.

One of the "Lit Ladies" will be around shortly to help you out in detail, I imagine.

Well that's actually incredibly helpful. I did think about maybe under sheets with pillows etc might help out hehe the wall my bed is on is the wall my neighbours bed is on and she complains about the noise I make when I type on my keyboard :O

I figured it might be okay to maybe only use the vibe in the day when I have an excuse to play loud music or something but I quite like to bang my headphones in and watch a spot of the old erotica and it's always nice to have the option to use it at night ya know?

Still, I'll check out the brands you mentioned you've been a big help.

*rushes off the browse the magnificent wares of The Lelo brand vibes <3*

Great idea but most of these brands might be out of a college student's price range. Its hard to make a recommendation since women have such differing feelings on what they want in a toy. My SO 's favorite is actually a free one we got from Adam and Eve when I spent money on a handsfree model she never cared for. Lots of sites you can try. Blowfish and Babeland have always been a good resource.

I've noticed the prices getting higher >.< Shame too maybe I can bag some freebies? Heheh that'd be nice :p Do Adam and Eve do a lot of freebies? I've been on a website caled Blowfish before I hope it's the same one because that site was awesome hehe. I'm checking 'um out now <3

I've always gone the white noise direction as cover. You'd be amazed at how marvelously a box fan's engine whir will mask a vibrator's engine whir. Living in southern California, fans are year-round items, but, if you live in an area where that isn't the case, you might try a combination fan/heater and then turn it to the appropriate setting for the season. Just make sure it's loud enough to mask the noise.

The little Trojan vibes they make now area pretty affordable and I've always liked how they felt. Sometimes, the simplest things work best, last the longest, and are the most reasonably priced. Still, you will have to try to figure out what works best for you. From the way you talked about wanting a rabbit, I have to assume you're far more clitoraly motivated than g-spot, which is super common and there's more than a few toys with that in mind. Experiment!

I don't know about freebies (and usually they're not worth much, if anything, anyway), but the advantage of A&E is you can return the toys for any reason, whether it's a dud or you just don't like it because it's too loud or whatever.

If you're not actually sharing a room, you shouldn't have a problem with a rabbit under the covers. And if your keyboard bugs your neighbor, maybe she needs to move her bed or out of the dorms. IOW, a little noise is her problem, not yours. Anyway, make sure you get one that takes at least 3 AA batteries (rechargeables are awesome for vibes) so the functions get enough juice. The second one on this page looks pretty good, especially if you have a 50% off coupon, can get free shipping, etc. Just be advised that since jelly is very porous, can't be sanitized (though that's true for most vibes) and often contains some nasty chemicals, it's a good idea to slip a condom over the toy before you use it. You can get condoms for free or almost nothing at your school or Planned Parenthood, BTW.

I've had two of these. They've lasted fantastically long and I got them off of eBay's adult/mature section (under Everything Else) for under $18 including shipping. They're not fancy, and I'd definitely suggest getting the one I linked to above if it's in your budget and/or you can get it at a really good price, but if you're looking for something really inexpensive and fairly reliable, this or the Rabbit Pearl (the other w/ a separate controller that takes 3 C batteries) could be a good choice if you can get it for under/around $20 including shipping.

I think you have a good instinct to go with a rabbit, and I'd suggest not spending a lot because it's your first vibe and even really expensive models often die quickly.

Oh, and sites like Babeland, Blowfish, Libida and Good Vibrations can be great for research, but they're bad choices if you're shopping on a budget and/or don't know what you truly like yet. I don't think any of them provide extra value like Adam & Eve's guarantee for the higher prices.

When you do get in a situation that will allow for more noise, go for the Hitachi Magic Wand with the attachments. I can almost guarantee it'll be the best $50 you ever spend, and you (and any partner(s)...they're fabulous for men, too) will be extremely satisfied with it for many years. It's not quiet or sexy looking, but it's probably the best, most versatile toy on the market, period.

Make sure that your bed is not actually touching the wall since any vibration or movement on the bed will then move the wall that acts as a sounding board. Hard to believe that she complains about typing on your keyboard, LOL!

Victor raises a good point. If the bed has to touch the wall, stuff the comforter down between it and the wall to dampen some of the transfer. I hear you about the headphones thing: see how quiet you can get without background music. With the covers and all, you're obviously going to get "just a little" sweaty. Hope you don't mind that.

Sorry, I keep putting things outside people's price bracket. People keep asking me for advice on firearms and they invariably end up with "Buy Sako" or "Buy Tikka", but then they have to choose between a car or a rifle. Apparently I'm the same way with sex toys. :D I don't spend money on much else, so I've got savings I can dip into for this sort of thing despite going to Uni as well.

That's actually so logical I could kick myself for not thinking of it >.< x x I'm gonna give it a go moving my bed and shop around a bit more. Thanks Victor ^___^

Also don't worry so much about the price thing I'm sure I can find something. I'm considering moving my bed and doing the covers thing. I don't mind getting a little hot and heavy Brazen ;) Hehehe <3 Wish me luck! x x
