Incidentally, I disapprove of the current mania for getting one's labia trimmed via plastic surgery. Just as women had finally started learning to accept that her genitalia was nothing to be ashamed of (calling it pudenda certainly did not help) someone had to come along with the idea that it had to conform to a certain model. Feh.

I agree, this surgical practice is horrific! It's totally appalling ot me that someone would find the need to mutilate their vagina to comfom to some articial ideal of beauty.
Personally I find large labia very attractive and sexy. Of course I find all labia attractive, so...
Now back to the question! I'll admit that I'm curious as well. There is lots of reports by women who have this procedure who say it's a comfort issue. So any women out there with labia on the largish side? Any discomfort because of it?

Ah come on, I think this is an interesting question. I mean if you read the site of Dr. Alter (No shit, I didn't make this name up!), the leading surgeon pioneering vaginoplasty or whatever he calls it, the number one reason women do it is thtat they say their long labia are uncomfortable. When a woman is aroused, blood flows to her vaginal lips, inner and outer, and they become more red and swell. So yes, they do 'change' and can look more 'open'.
But at no point. aroused or not, is there an opening, like a canal. The walls always touch unless you insert something.

Actually I think they do. I have found in my experience that most women's labia do infact swell a bit when aroused. All women are different. Therefore, their labia are all gonna look different, regardless of whether or not they're aroused. I don't look like either of the ones you've posted, and I don't think my labia retract, since they don't require a climate-controlled environment like a guy's balls do.Hanon435 said:
