Hey everyone,

I had a question directed more for the ladies. I am still a virgin, but my boyfriend and I have tried everything else there is. My question is, sometimes my pussy lips swell up and stay swelled up (not just arousal), like for a day or two. I know that I do not have an STD, but was wondering if anyone else has had this experience. Is there anything I can do to prevent or treat it?

?

Do you have any pain? Redness?

My pussy lips are always puffed up; it's the way I'm shaped. Arousal only tends to redden them, but there's not much change in the swell/puffy quality. Never thought I had to "treat" it, though.

What do you consider your "normal" shape?

Yes there is a little pain when it remains just because of rubbing on my clothes. They get red and visually swollen. Typically I cannot see them unless I use my hands to pull them apart but when I have this they are visible.

Oohhh, inner labia. ;) I should've asked that. That's a little different.

Hmm...I remember my inner lips becoming more elastic and visible as I began having sex. My masturbation (clit pressure) didn't mimic my first boyfriend (lots of finger fucking), so I presume there was a fair amount of "trauma" to that area (but not the kind I minded....). They would stick out more, also rub on my underwear and be a little sore because of it....

I can't really explain it; mine never actually "went back down", just became more resistant to irritation and was "normal" in my mind again. I never did anything for it.

*thinks* Although, have you heard of witch hazel? It's an astringant herb, also used in hemorrhoidal wipes and creams (shrinks and dries soft tissue); you can even gargle it for laryngitis. Maybe use a witch hazel pad/wipe (sold in any pharmacy store); it might make the inner lips shrink back down again. Although...I've not tried this, mind you. Just seems like a clean way to encourage them to shrink up a bit.

Although my guess is you're changing shape from the beginning sexual experience. Maybe you don't have to do anything at all if there aren't any signs of an infection (pain and swelling not having to do with rubbing clothes, smell, discharge).

I agree with Etaski that it could be a normal change. It's also possible to get swelling from having an allergy to a particular lube, condom, toy, or even something your partner has eaten and has traces of in their saliva or other bodily fluids. So see if it happens with any kind of noticeable pattern, and make sure nothing else, like your lips or nasal sinuses tends to be swollen at the same time.
