Curious do women usually receive cyber pms from boys, excuse me MEN, on Lit?

And to clarify I mean you don't know the person at all.

Please, someone respond. I would like to know other's experiences with this and perhaps in the process some might get the drift.

Thanks!

Thanks!! It just annoys me that certain people think they are above common courtesy and common sense. It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round I suppose.

Anyone else?

Do you mean the infamous "do u wanna cyber?" pm? If so yes, just alluding to possibly being female and you are in a position to get them.

Oh and these guys don't get any "drifts" or hints. You must be blunt with them, I give them one chance of no thank you and then they are on ignore if they try again.

Hi there.....I have to empty my inbox every 3-4 days!!! I get LOTS of pms asking if I like what Ive seen and do I want to see more?? Ususally from people who have posted less than 10 times...how could I possibly know anything about them!!
If a total stranger (and I mean someone I havent got to know at least a little through the boards) pms me I will either ignore it if they are plain crass or I'll politely tell them to go to the personals and look for a playmate. Usually one email is enough - only a couple have come back again and they were ignored.
Some people seem to think that because this is an erotica forum that its open season on anyone with a pulse!!
WRONG!
Some of us are here to socialise and meet likeminded people, and sure, do a lot of flirting if the situation arises.
You can always turn off your pms if you like - but then that stops legit ones too which is a pain.
Put a note in your signature line to say DO NOT PM ME FOR CYBER and it pretty much stops them in their tracks...I took mine off recently and Im back to being bombarded!!
oooops...sorry for the sermon!
Have fun :D

I wish! I have that in my sig line, and it doesn't stop 'em. I usually get 2-3 offers a day, usually from guys who've seen my pic thread. I politely but bluntly thank them for their usually kind words on my pics, but "no thanks" on cybering, watching them on cam or whatever. The best ones will let it go. The ones who persist, I forward the PM to my Daddy and let him say something to them. That stops 'em! :D I haven't had to iggy anyone.

Big Smiles

Thanks you all for your responses :)

A few months ago I got a "do u wanna cyber" pm and I vented about it on another thread. It seemed to work until last night when I received quite an erotic one which annoyed me to know end.

Soo...I kinda blew my top so to speak and yelled at the guy in my response. Yes I realize I wasn't a very lady like, especially the language I used, but I felt much better afterwords. :catroar:

Giggles, to Celticlass, I also forwarded the pm to my Daddy. Who I am sure is going to get a laugh out of the whole deal. *evil cackles*

Any other opinions? I know that there are more than just 4 women who have had this happen to them on Lit. Please share!

I have gotten a number of PM and IM's on my Yahoo and AOL. These men have been interesting to meet and several have developed into a nice friendship. http://bestsmileys.com/halloween3/16.gif

After my first couple of months on Lit, I had to remove my instant messengers from Lit. I constantly had pop-ups (especially during work ) assuming that because I post on Lit or write stories that I automatically want to jump in the cyber-sak with them. I still receive PM's. Some have been nice, some have been down-right stupid. Felt like I was back in yahoo chat rooms

The really idiotic ones I simply ignore. Others have came across very pleasant, so I take the time to reply and let them know they need to address me on the threads first. I really hate PM's, but there a few I keep in contact that way and don't want to turn off the option.

You are lucky you have someone to help you deal with them. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one getting these request, but my problem with them is they are far to young for me. http://bestsmileys.com/halloween3/16.gif

Maybe it's me because I don't know what all the short hand terms are, but what does 'iggy' mean? http://bestsmileys.com/halloween3/16.gif

Iggy means ignore. My wife gets alot of PM's. She averages at least 4 or 5 a day. It's usually more if she's in one of her moods and is really flirting. Most of the bad ones are from the men that have less than 20 posts. She don't reply to any of them unless she has posted with them before.

We all get them, we delete them, if they are persistent we put them on ignore (iggy). After you have been here awhile its just like getting ants at a picnic, you just brush them off.

The ones who actually write something interesting, we might respond too. Making us laugh hysterically also might get a reply.

In my particular case, I check their posts in case it is just another alt of a certain someone.

Please visit my new belly dance thread and poll

Hmmm

A common thing that I am seeing is that most of the ones who pm in this manner are not very active on the boards. Interesting conclusion, wonder why this is?

Any thoughts?

Lol...it happens to most if not all women on Lit and to a lot of the men too believe it or not.
As a few have said, most are usually just deleted with no reply
I used to have a line in my sig that said...

" I don't cyber, I don't have naked pics, so don't bother pm'ing me for either"

it works, you get less mail and the mail you do get is usually from someone who can string several sentences together to form a conversation that does not have sex mentioned in it anywhere
There are many gentlemen or men with manners on Lit.... they'll usually take time to get to know you on the boards before they pm you

Daddy likes to protect and nurture me, so may as well let him. He's very effective at keeping the morons at bay. :)

These ones are usually lurkers who do nothing more than PM women hoping for a hit. In a night club equivalent, these are the ones who wander around looking, not actually engaging in conversation with anyone. Then, when they spot an interesting looking female, their opening gambit is, "Hey. You're hot. Wanna go off and fuck?" Doesn't work there, and it sure won't work here.

Actually, I doubt that ever really happens. Kind of an urban myth. Men won't typically send a PM to someone they don't know and, when they send one to someone they do, it's always very modest and respectful.

So I don't really get what you're talking about. Sorry.

In the last one I received, the guy went on about how he was turned on by older women. It's a good thing I am happy with my age and I don't consider myself old. What was he thinking? I think a good rule of advice would be, if you wouldn't say it to that person's face, then don't pm it.

I get a few...it is usually from someone I do not know with a low post number. I ignore them. Also, the younger "boys" pm a lot....I tell them to bugger off...that is just to gross for me.

Sarcasm or seriousness?

If that is meant as sarcasm please just laugh at my response if not *shrugs* read on..

Perhaps if I explained it a bit more it would help...It does Happen!...Seriously. This person, who shall remain nameless, has been a member since April of '06 and has a grand total of 3 posts. Until his intrusive pm appeared in my window I had no idea he existed. Men, now no offense to the millions of gentlemen on Lit and my Daddy in particular, aren't that picky when they desire to fuck off with a computer screen. Its amazing, simply amazing, to learn what goes on in their little heads and dicks and what ends up in my pm box.

But hey thats just my opinion, maybe those men are merely...trying to make an ever lasting connection through honest desire and lust...Or Maybe NOT!!!

:p

So true, so very true

Mine does the same as well for me. He is simply perfect in that sense and in so many other ways. *blissful sighs* And since this little incident he has become more possessive of me on Lit, much to my pleasure.

I also agree with Sunny whole heartedly....younger guys are usually too inexperienced to know better

And Lady Raptor you are soo wise ;)

Thanks all! Any others who wish to share or offer advice?
