[Check] your pm's.

*****Please understand I'm not trying to put down Wally, any other member or the PM system here -- PMs certainly have their place, and I'm just thinking aloud about something I've seen numerous times recently. Apologies in advance for the hijack, though it seems like the original question has been answered well by Cate. :) *****

I don't get the "check your PMs" response for any type of question soliciting rather impersonal information. Frankly, I don't understand when people start a non-Personals thread then ask people to respond via PM only, either.

So much of the stuff I've learned in the past few years on a wide variety of topics has been from reading and researching questions and answers here at Lit. If many of us only responded to threads via PM, how on earth would people learn? We never know who might be reading and pick up info they need now or in the future, so why not just post the answer(s) on the thread?

Again, the wonderful friends I've made here are a result of posting on the board -- something in the posts sparks our interest, and we comment in private, which is the first step on the road to friendship, right? It'd really suck if more people refused to post publicly because sharing allows us to make connections that can turn into amazing friendships.

And for those who are only here for the porn, can you imagine having to PM a member every single time you were looking for pics, or getting a "Check your PMs" instead of feedback on your latest photos? People probably wouldn't bother posting if that were the case, and many would be robbed of their ego-boosts and jack off material. Oh, the HORROR!!!

The entire purpose of the Literotica DISCUSSION Board/FORUMS is to provide a place for open conversation, debate, exchange of information, ideas and images with this rich, vibrant community.

Thoughts? Should I start ducking the rotten tomatoes? :D

Hi Erica,

you are so right.... as usual (well, not about the tomatoes you know?). I was preparing something along the same lines but you've said it all already.

How are you doing girl? :rose:

Pretty good, just working hard and very behind, as usual. :D This transition from apartment dweller to homeowner is almost a full time job!

I can't figure out what your AV's showing.

You can't?

Well.... I tried to be a tiny bit artistic here ;)
Let's just keep it at a part of M that intrigues me :p

because they may be giving out some of their personal information, or in this case, someone elses as they were telling me who to go to to seek more help. there are usually good reasons for why people do things, just got to as you've done, ask, or really think about it.

I don't think you got what Erika was saying. If he wanted to PM you he could have done that, but why mention that on the board? The whole idea, as Erika already explained, of a board like this is to share information. The question as well as the answers are important and together make a valuable source of information, but not if replies only say "check your PM's" to one certain person.

i think to put it in the boards like that is to make sure it's seen. not everyone has notices set up to email when you have a new pm, and lots of people would just forget to look. granted, its not truely necessary, but what i'm trying to say is, there is a reason for it. may not be view at by all as a good reason, but its a reason none the less. tho i'm in agreement, drives me a lil nuts to see the "check your pm's" posted in a thread i'm reading. but then i've also been that person who forgot to check the pm's and only remembered when i saw one of those posts in a thread. so it works both ways.

anyhow, i'm finding literotica is just not for me, so thanks all for the quick responses, but i've got better things to do with my time and fingers, ciao

Did I do that?!
I seriously doubt it. You were polite and spoke very well for me.

People can be fickle and sometimes they just don't find what they're looking for here, whether that's sex or a path to fame and fortune as a writer.

Now I see the image in the AV. Artistic is good -- I hate talking to genitals. :D

She coud be leaving for all sorts of reasons, doesn't like that people can send her messages any time they want to perhaps, doesn't like the fact there is a ratings system, got yelled at by someone that is running the boards, or perhaps because literotica doesn't condone her particular fetish in stories. Or even perhaps because literotica supports a fetish she can't stand, like say nonconsent.

I have to admit i didn't like non consent when I first started looking at literotica, refused to read it, but one day perusing the new stories I happened to read a story listed as non consent and loved it, so now I'll read the non consent stories, but some people refuse to even look at them, others see that and just walk away, it's a matter of personal taste on staying with literotica or going elsewhere.
