I completely understand what you mean. I'm bisexual myself, but I can definitely tell the difference between wanting sex and wanting domination. It isn't even as clearly defined as "physical vs. mental," because D/s is superbly physical (and there's quite a lot of mental to sex, come to think of it). But it's a different sort of lust. Sometimes I crave a deep dicking, sometimes I just want to be slapped around. All in the appropriate situation.

I can tell you that you're in luck. From what I understand, most BDSM play parties deal exclusively with powerplay and/or sadomasochism; sex is more or less taboo in most public situations. So if you feel brave enough to venture out in your local scene, you'll probably get what you're looking for with no unwanted extras.

It's not odd at all. There are plenty of people who have same sex D/s fantasies but don't otherwise consider themselves interested in the same sex.

In my experience this can be a quite popular fantasy of staight men interested in D/s, and can be both with inclusion of females in a variety of ways, or without. Some straight men with such fantasies will also consent to sex with the male as a part of their submission more so than their own sexual taste or desire. The public sex thing in clubs depends on where you are. If in the US I gather it is taboo as Quint has said. In Europe, some places more than others, it is considered quite normal for people to be sexual in all gradiations and without need to try and hide it in a corner. From what I gather of Australia, though it is not usual in public clubs, many private type parties/clubs allow sex for those who wish to continue to that level. Have fun and welcome to the board.
