Wondering if anyone can help put my mind at ease-

The other day, I was on the pichunter website, just looking around, clicking on various links... when a picture came up that made me uneasy. It was a "twink" with an older guy.

Now, the disclaimer on the site states that the models are all over 18, which is a good thing. But, it got me thinking. What if, god forbid, I click on a link and end up at a site that does not adhere to the laws of decency ? Or to the law, in general ?

What if some freak posts something illegal, and I click on it ? Do I report it ? If so, to whom ? Also, if I did click on a link and find myself faced with a bad image, could I get into trouble ? My internet provider is aol dialup...

Don't get me wrong- I'm extremely openminded, but I have very definite limits. The fear is enough to make me avoid the good, clean fun of the "good", legal stuff.

Any input would be appreciated :)

no you wont get in trouble for stumbling over child porn photos while surfing. if/when the authorities look at your computer, there'd be a noticeable difference between you... the preson who accidentally found some.... and chester the molester... who visits tons of these sites everyday.

although its against the law... you wouldnt get in trouble for having 1 or 2 child porn pics on your hard drive.. its sort of giving you the benefit of the doubt that you didnt know those women were underage.. i think you need over 5-7 pictures to actually be in deep shit.

i forgot where i read all this... but it was a while back

Sorry, I'd be lying if I said there was no chance of you winding up with an illegal image or two in your temporary internet files or that you couldn't be prosecuted for it if your computer fell into the hands of the authorites.

A decade or so ago, I had a friend prosecuted, convicted and serve time for "child-porn" on his BBS. The picture was uploaded while he was at work and reported before he checked the daily uploads. Despite his efforts to adhere to the law, and the physical impossibility of his knowing of the picture or being able to delete it before his computer was seized, he served five years for possession of child porn.

The sorry fact is, that surfing the internet -- even on supposedly "safe" sites -- leaves you open to receiving illegal images and "I didn't know it was there" doesn't seem to be a valid defense against the anti-porn crusaders.

Thanks for the replies...

I'm sorry about your friend, Weird Harold; that truly sux :(

It's a shame that there are some sickos out there who put that kind of garbage out there.
