My wife recenetly started shaving her pussy, and I asked her to keep it like that because its alot easier for me to go down on her without hair in the way, and it feels better during intercourse. Whenever she shaves it she gets bumps on her pubic region, is there anything she can use to make shaving less irritable for her, or does the irritation get less over time? because if shes going to keep getting bumps all the time, I'll just tell her to let the bush grow back, its not worth it if shes going to feel uncomfortable.

There are products sold in drug stores as pre treatments for shaving, and to apply after shaving. I just can't think of them at the moment, I'm sorry. Aloe vera helps alot for the discomfort.

Tell her to shop around, she'll find something that helps. And a few tips: use a really good razor for sensitive skin, and don't dare go anywhere near the Intuition razor. Promise me.

There's a product called Bikini Zone that is supposed to work (I've never tried it). When I shave, I soak in the tub, use a new triple-blade razor, leave the shaving lotion on for a minute or two, and use as few strokes as possible. Then, I pat the area dry, and apply over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream. It's cheap, it soothes the skin, and reduces inflammation.

Here's another option if she can't stand the razorburn: use a beard trimmer or hair clippers to cut it super-short. It's not the same as shaving, but you get similar feeling benefits without the pain.

My wife has the same issues, and I don't know what causes it. Some of us just have sensitive skin, I guess. I keep myslf shave, and have no irritation at all.
Three things that help are:
1. Use a good quality, triple blade razor, such as venus.
2.Use a good gel shaving cream, such as Edge, unscented.
3.Just shave the area around her labia, (pussy lips) down to the perineaum. Leave the mons veneris, the area directly above her pussy unshaved, but trimmed short with scissors or clipper. It's a nice compromise that seems to work well for many women.

Just one more thing.... help her shave, or shave her, and enjoy the experience together... it's extremely erotic, and you absolutely must taste test after shaving...

I don't think anyone can shave without getting irritation. That part of our bodies isn't meant to be shaved. I reccommend not using the Venus razors. Those are really bad in my opinion. I get cheap disposable razors and use a new one after about a week. (Not too cheap, at least 2 blades.) Make sure you have really good cream to shave with. In my experience gels are actually best. I use Gilette satin care gel for bikini area. It works really good. Make sure you've been in the shower or bath for a while, you can't be dry. I put oil on afterwards and its worked the best so far. Also, when you shave be REALLY gentle. Don't press down as hard as you would if you were shaving your legs or something. And, if it gets irritated, wait a few days before trying again. It will just get worse if you keep shaving when it's bad.

I also find that it shaving gets better with time for me anyway....when I first started shaving I would be horribly itchy and covered in bumps but that went away after a while and now when I shave I have no problems at all....

And I know most here will cringe but I use just soap and water, (though I have used shaving lotion only I find it made no difference)..and a new pink Daisy razor...I find that I don't need the lotions and my skin feels soft as can be after..though my soap usually has a mosturizer in it....to start out with I would recommend using all the lotions and oils till she is used to it.

I have to tell you that hair conditioner works well for shaving parts of any kind. I seem to get the closest shave when I use it instead of soap. Also as stated above use a new razor at least once a week. Between legs, underarms and bikini shaving, that razor can get dull fast.
Also I find that if you pull the skin very tight before a stroke, it gets closer and doesn't grab as much.

i've given up on shaving completely smooth, and now use an electric bikini-shaver to clip the hair closely instead.

*sigh* i'd LOVE to be completely smooth, but the ingrown hairs, the itching, and the irritation are just not worth it.

damn my european heritage and the hair that comes with it!!!

I used to shave dry and never have a problem. Now I dont have any problems just using water and a razor. I've been using the venus lately and the more often I shave, the less ingrown hairs and such that I get. Otherwise, I have a gabillion and one ingrown hairs and slight irritation.

I think the amount of irritation is really dependent on the skin. Each person's skin is goign to be different than the next and everything is goign to react differently with each person. It's one of those that you'll try some different things over time and find what works for her. Just keep in mind, what works for one, isnt always going to work for another.
