Question for Literotica.org mail users

I've been a little suspicious for awhile about missing feedback (both given and received), and I've wondered if there might be problems with either Lit's feedback mechanism or with my Literotica.org mail account, or both.

It's been several weeks since I received any story feedback in that account. That's probably okay, since I haven't posted a new story in over a month. But the weird thing is that I *never* get any junk mail in that account. Not a single item. This makes me wonder if it's using some sort of spam filter that may be inadvertently removing legitimate emails. (For instance, when I try to send myself copies of feedback I send to other authors using the story feedback form, I don't receive it. The only way I know if the feedback goes through is if the author responds to my feedback.)

There are no "anti-spam" options that I can see on the mail configuration screen. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Or alternatively, does anyone have a suggestion for a better free email service? I've used Yahoo, as well, but it gets filled up with spam so quickly that I reach my mailbox size limit too soon.

thanks in advance,
sarah

Spam

I've always used Yahoo, and I'm satisfied with it. The Spam filter they use now seems to be very effective.

I've never gotten any spam through Lit's feedback system.

Thanks, both of you. I'll switch my feedback over to Yahoo. Glad to know I wasn't the only one having problems, though.

The only reason I have a literotica.org account was so no one could get the name and claim to be me with it. I don't like the user interface, it's not quite what I'm used it.

I may be getting your feedback. Someone sent me a note that I was beautiful and that I made them cum.

No, that was me. You are beautiful, and you do make me cum.

I have never gotten a single piece of mail in that account and I have heard a lot of people complain about not getting any with it. I have it for the same reason as KM, I didn't want someone else to use it claiming to be me.

Wicked:kiss:

Okay

So I switch over my feedback account, and after three weeks of not getting a single piece of feedback, I get one tonight.

So I think, "Wow... that's a strange coincidence."

And then I read it.

Great story u wrote. I cum a lot when I read it. but u need more facials in it. is that reely yor picture. you are very hot. Can u send me a
picture. A nice big one showing everything.

I know fucked-up feedback when I see it, and this is a fucked-up piece of feedback. And entirely fabricated. First of all, the person didn't leave an email address to which I could send my life-sized pussy pix. Secondly, the person picked the one story, out of all my stories, which couldn't possibly cause an orgasm. (Not that the other ones could, necessarily, but this one was my hopelessly literary and sensitive story.)

So I'm on to you, whoever you are...

I posted on the HOW TO board a week ago that a story of mine was on 4.8 with 250 votes and 40 000 reads and I'd had no feedback. Guess what ! literotica.org E mail address. Changed E mail to my other account and received 5 in the first night!

Needless to say I think literotica.org is stuffed at the moment for some reason!

I'll yahoo !

In the absence of any other takers, I didn't send the feedback but if there's a life size pic of your pussy going spare, ahem!!!:D

Very shrewd, pops. Very, very shrewd. You waited just the right length of time before responding, too...

:p

Can you Cc a copy of that to me at the same time please. But obviously don't send it to my .Org address ;)

Dear Sarah,

I'm almost never out on the board. I opened this string because I recognize your name from stories.

I was just struck by the fact that it is an entire string of reasonable people who can read and write -- apart from the ugly feedback message.

Just so you know, I always find your stories nicely erotic, in case you didn't get my feedback. :)

Ummm... If you stick around for a while, we'll clear up that misconception.

The Literotica.org mailbox is terrible. Not only did it lose countless emails from fans, but the people who run the mail addy (not Literotica) sent my aol email address piles and piles of spam.

Do yourself a favor and get a hotmail, yahoo, or lycos email addy.

Thank you jacquioh. :)

I did switch my email from Lit to Yahoo back when this thread was created (late May), and since then I haven't experienced any (obvious) problems with feedback. And I did get yours (I think) -- I even responded, on July 4. I'll send you a private message with the response, in case you didn't receive it.

I received only one piece of feedback which claimed that I made them cum.

Since they also included a charge of $5.95 for their dry cleaner's bill, I wasn't especially impressed.
