Question about Contests

I was wondering if anybody knows why Survivor Contest and Monthly Contests are posted on the contest board and the Special Contests are posted on this board. For a long time, I would look for them on the Contest Board, that does seem to make more sence, doesnt' it?

Anyway, I wanted to ask on the contest board, but you can't post your own thread there, so if anyone can help me out with this one, I'd appreciate it. (esp. if you are a moderator, and you really know what you are talking about )

Survivor, most likely because it's the year long contest with a board of it's very own.

The monthly contest because it's based on the best of all the entries every month...no special rules

The special contests have specific rules, but don't require their own board, so it's posted here where the authors will see it, most likely.

the survivor contest only has its own board just this year. Actually, its a subset of the contest board, and it has its own board this year because instead of the new scoring method where everyone gets there own thread for scores, rather than the old way were there was only one scoring thread and people had a hard time finding their own scoreing posts.

My point was that the survivor contest is a very different type of contest...the rules regarding survivor do not relate to story content...merely documentation of such. Special contests relate to story content and the authors need to be notified as such

I'm not trying to be a pain or anything, but I don't see how that makes that much of a difference. Writers can still be notified of special contest rules on the contest thread. I wouldn't care if they posted them in both places, but I would like to think that if I went to contests, I would find all of the info I needed for any contest- weather it was special rules or regular rules.

The special contests always are announced on the home page and have a link to the rules. The most likely anwer to why they are posted here is that the majority of people who are interested in them will visit. A thread in the contests forum would probably get very little attention, but a thread here will get plenty of posts and those posts may bolster interest. For example the halloween contest, I wouldn't have noticed it or entered it if there hadn't been a lively discussion of it going on here in the Ah.
