You mix eggnog with freshly grated nutmeg and some rather nice sherry?

A: a Happy Shanglan.

Lush.

I am sooooooo glad I'm no the only one who can't stand egg nog........eeeeuuuukkkkkkkkkkkkk.

I simply try not to think about how repulsive all of the recipes for it sound. I buy it bottled and try not to think about it. After a few with sherry, that's remarkably easy.

Sounds like a waste of sherry unless it was poor sherry.

Years ago I used to frequent Milk Bars in Australia. I used to like one or two raw eggs whisked in a milk shake. The thought of those milk shakes now makes me feel queasy.

A sherry from the private stock of the Gonzalez Byass family cave in Jerez de la Frontera - that makes my taste buds tingle even all these years later.

Jose Cuervo and I had to break up for the same reason. He just did whatever he wanted to me....

That's why I stick to Guinness and cider - although mind you, a good scrumpy can sometimes leave one feeling as if one's stomach has been sanded.

Guiness is good. Have you ever had it baked?

A friend of mine put a bottle in the freezer and let it get too icy; so (with the logic of people who've been partying all day) he decided to put it in the oven to thaw it out.

He turned the oven on. So the beer was frozen, then baked. But he drank it, and he said it was good.

*laugh* It's baked me, but I have never baked it. I will have to try that.

Actually, I lie slightly - it's good to bake *with*, or at least it can make a mean pot roast or beef stew.

Hey, WTF is a scrumpy?

A beautiful curse upon man and nature. Also, a cloudy, delicious, dangerous alcoholic cider.

Sounds fanfuckingtastic. Count on you for the most enticing descriptions of things.

You are such an enabler. ;)

Exellent. Now listen to me describe mailing me large, sumptuous checks ...

Guinness makes me sad.

Years ago I was on one of Her Majesty's ships that was en route from a courtesy visit to Eire back to Liverpool.

The minelaying racks had been put to good use. They were loaded with barrels of genuine Irish Guinness. We lost the lot in a storm force 10.

I still regret those barrels.
