Russia accidently bombed Wagner instead of Ukraine. The leader of Wagner promised retaliation. Russia has opened an investigation of the Wagner leader for treason.

If I am reading it right...he has pulled his force out of Ukraine and has entered Russia. He has warned the Russian forces that if they interfere they will be anilalated. Could he really be heading towards Moscow? My gut is saying this is going to get really ugly really fast

Is it possible that “The Wagner Group”,which was comprised of many former convicts, finally realized that Putin was using them as cannon fodder, while simultaneously saving money by cleaning out the prisons and ridding the country of potentially revolutionary young men.

Unlike my fellow comrade that made a similar thread...I will stick to mine and debate implications. The Russian Army that have been fighting in Ukraine is collapsing giving Ukraine free movement. That war could be over within days and Ukraine could have all territory originally stolen back. It appears...unsubstantiated at this time...that the Russian Forces from that region are combining with Wagner. What we do know for fact...Wagner has taken 2 Russian military bases without bloodshed and US Intel thinks there is a distinct possibility Wagner will move on Moscow directly..
So the question becomes...Will Putin survive the next week? There is arguments for both yes and no. But if not...who replaces Putin?

Putin is said to have flown out of Moscow for Valdai. Also, it's said that Medvedev and his family have been evacuated. Those two data bits, if true, aren't good for the current Russian administration's survival.
Putin must act decisively and quickly to suppress Wagner Group's actions. Unfortunately it doesn't look like he can do that. If he can't he still might survive in the end but his doing so will only prolong the situation and divide Russia into loyalists and subversives with little hope of easy and quick reunification.
Ukraine is probably putting troops on alert and formulating plans for a high speed attack. I expect to see that happen in a couple of days unless the Wagner Group advance on Moscow is stopped outside the city.

Putin does not have full support of his military making predictions difficult.
Any territory Ukraine takes back must be defendable. Longterm...Crimea could be back in play.
Putin will have to sacrifice the 2 military leaders under him to Prigozhin (sp?). Putin needs to recognize he can not survive without Wagner...and Wagner does not exist without Prigozhin. This is what happens when you sell your soul to the devil

Unfortunately it is a very real question. This is why I think he has no choice but to yield to Prigozhin and sacrifice the two military leaders that attacked him. The attack was two pronged...and purposeful. Now did Putin sign off on it? I doubt it. Why? Because if it failed...which it did...there is nothing between there and Moscow stopping retaliation. This is a clusterfuck at all levels

Apparently the FSB stepping up on Putin's side was enough to make Prigozhin change his mind. Obviously he thought he had a shot and that the FSB and Russian national guard would stand aside and watch from the sidelines and eventually support whoever came out on top.
