How many Russian friends, peers and coworkers do you have in your personal contacts?.... How many American friends who've worked in Russia...What on Earth are you talking about?
Causing "Mental harm" qualifies as Genocide under UN definition....No Russians in Ukraine were being exterminated.
Nothing connected with derussification in Ukraine has really been oppressive. It's hard to imagine that as a provocation for this war.Causing "Mental harm" qualifies as Genocide under UN definition....
Subverting people's culture, language, religion etc... qualifies as "mental harm."
As an attorney, why is a high school dropout having to explain this to you?
What you're talking about never happened. This is what happened. No money was laundered. You are correct
Hypothetically, let's say PR held a vote to obtain US Statehood and become our 51st star...Nothing connected with derussification in Ukraine has really been oppressive. It's hard to imagine that as a provocation for this war.
There is no question of "intervening" -- the U.S. can enforce U.S. law in U.S. territory.Hypothetically, let's say PR held a vote to obtain US Statehood and become our 51st star...
A brigade of PR military, swastika tats and all, start terrorizing men, women, and children... schools etc...
Would you say the US would be wrong in intervening?

Some former Soviet regions have voted to rejoin Russia as well... and won... only to see power struggles ensue. There is no question of "intervening" -- the U.S. can enforce U.S. law in U.S. territory.
In any case, PR already had that vote. Statehood won.
I hope you're not talking about Transnistria. Some former Soviet regions have voted to rejoin Russia as well... and won... only to see power struggles ensue.
There's an interesting comparison here. In signing the Budapest Memorandum thirty years ago, the Ukraine agreed to GIVE UP all the nuclear weapons they had inherited from the defunct USSR when the Soviet Empire collapsed. In exchange for shipping off a large stockpile of nuclear weapons (disarming themselves), they were given guarantees their territorial integrity would be respected. If Russia had respected that agreement it would have been a great encouragement to nuclear disarmament everywhere in the world.A pithy response. But I refer your good self to the Cuban missile crisis that almost resulted in the total destruction of life on Earth. The proximate cause? The Soviet Union basing missiles on the island of Cuba. Also wasn't an invasion.
And the U.S. response to that was entirely stupid. We put the whole world at risk for nothing. Putin is similarly overreacting to the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO.A pithy response. Nobody is depending on those -- they can't vote. And if they ever are naturalized -- which only legal residents can be -- they will not be reliable Dem voters.Except when it's illegal migrants that Democrats are depending on.......right??
For some MAGICAL reason that's just totally undoable and wrong in every way!!!!
