I recently submitted a work for approval, and am noticing it is taking an inordinate amount of time to be approved. It is the fourth chapter in a series, and it has been well over a week sitting in PENDING. Anyone else having this problem?

definately I have had works sitting since 30th Jan - and 3rd, 6th and 8th feb.
I'm sorry you are having the issue, but happy its not just me

Unless it is poetry or Illustrated stories, it is unusual for the approval to take that long. Try a PM to Laurel

Delays right now are not unusual due to the just completed Valentine's Day contest concluding. You should expect things to get back to a more normal schedule shortly but you may want to be aware of any ongoing contests before submitting in the future. Contest entries always get approval priority.

Although the deadline for the V-Day contest was 2/7/23, the sweeps and other contest-related tasks likely occupied the admins until yesterday.

Probably this is part of what is going on. Approval can take anywhere from three to ten days, which is a pretty fuzzy time frame. Probably Laurel won't respond until about two weeks have passed. That is just a guess, because I've never contacted her about anything.

This. My stuff usually takes two, occasionally three days. My last submission, 750 words, will be six days. I forgot about the Valentine's Day Contest.

I've never had to wait longer than two days for Laurel to get back to me, and normally it's the same day. I've contacted her about five times on very diverse subjects.

Just a data point.

But who knows how busy she is? One assumes she must have a Real Life, and it makes sense that delays would arise from that.

Yep, I have been waiting five days now for my latest story to go up...my stories usually go up in two or three days. I know it can be frustrating (especially if your stories are chaptered, or follow a vague timeline, like mine), but all my stories have eventually made it up there. Patience is a must on Literotica...

I waited a week for a 750 word story to be approved, I sent Laurel a PM with the full name of the story that was stalled and I saw this morning that it will be posted on 2/16

She must be swamped I've been trying to get some reaction from her on the upcoming April Fools Day story contest, she hasn't posted a heads up on that yet, and it opens for submissions in 2 weeks.

I'm sure she's swamped, but she took on this task more than two decades ago, so I guess she likes it? I've offered the "Miss Lonelyhearts" theory that Laurel, like the character in the novel, actually died or quit years ago and was replaced by somebody else using the name. Some people here said that Laurel absolutely exists and that I'm wrong, but I wonder if I've been completely debunked. Yes, I was mostly being tongue-in-cheek, but still . . .

Still Pending. The original posting date was 2/7/23, so eleven days now. I think I’m being black balled. I’ve never had a story take this long to be posted, ever.

Send a polite message to Laurel requesting that she give your story a nudge, be sure to give her the name of the story. You should normally see a change in the story's status the next day

Do what Duleigh suggests, PM Laurel. I doubt you're being black-balled. Processing slowed down with the Valentine's Day Contest, but I've had two 750 word stories go live each after 24 hours, so things are going back to normal.

I just wrote to Literotica, I’m not sure if contacting Laurel requires a message address different than the ‘contact us’ tab. This is the second message. I’ve had no reply to the first message I sent back on 2/14. Quite discouraged here.

PM "Laurel" right here on the forum side. That's what seems to work best.

How do I PM Laurel?
At the top of the page, next to your name, click on the little envelope then click Start A New Conversation
After that it's just like sending an email, the recipient just put in Laurel, it should show up as Kitty Momma as the list comes down

I'm glad to see it's not just me - I have had 4 stories waiting for approval since between 30th Jan and 11th feb. they just arent moving at all.

Still Pending, Officially two weeks! Never happened before, ever. I really am beginning to think it's deliberately being passed over for more recently posted stories.

I had a story pending for so long, I pulled it, and submitted another. Hopefully that one will get posted soon-ish...
