Looking for a story from some years ago and would appreciate help in identifying it.
Here's what I remember:
- It's a girls birthday (possibly some coming of age; either 18 or 21?)
- The place she lives has a weird tradition for this birthday that nobody underage knows about. All the women have to participate.
- One of her friends had the party a short time before the protagonist.
- She ends up in a strip club that hosts these parties and anybody can show up (specifically calls out her brother in the crowd).
- Basically goes through a strip routine and maybe masturbates on stage too before roaming the floor to give private dances.
There may have also been something about life mentors being assigned by the parents from men in the community that also can have a sexual relationship with the girl.
