hehehe i was so riled the camera didnt matter. although state troopers and their handcuffs so close by had me pretty distracted most of the evening.

Cool. But, I don't get it. Were the troupers there because this was an impromptu meeting that was getting out of hand, or were you among a group of meeting crashers that weren't taking NO for an answer?

Either way, it sounds to me like there's a possible movie in thie somewhere down the road. You know, like those one woman battles that always seem to have the big star playing her? Jane Fonda in "The China Syndrome" and Sally Field in "Norma Rae" or something like that?

I was once interviewed by the TV news. I was in a doctor's office that was trying to change the way things worked. This doctor's office didn't take reservations so much...they really took walk ins.

i was there with my wound...my cat had chewed up three of my fingers pretty bad (a long story, folks) and I needed a tetnis shot. I was one of only two patients in this place when the TV crew came in for the interview. The other guy had broken his toe or foot or something and was in too much pain to talk. So, they came to me.

This lady interviewed me for nearly five minutes it seemed, and the camera rolled the whole time. They even did close ups of my fingers, blood, ripped flesh and all.

anyway, I told all of my firends and co-workers to watch, because I thought sure it would all be on. Well, they edited it down to a quick flash of me on the screen (VERY quick flash!) and the only thing they had me saying was "I could get it done, today"...shit, they showed my bloody fingers more than they showed my face. What rip off!

Oh well, that's a long story, but have you seen the news? Were you on there, and was everything you wanted to say left in the broadcast? They do have a bad thing about chopping out the good stuff!

ahemmmm apparently another station i wasnt watching had me on.....yelling at the school board to close the *bleeping* school until its safe...after they told a parent they couldnt guarantee the childrens safety....and then if they miss school it is not an excused absence.

Once, a school informed my mom that something or the other wasn't an excused absence. She ripped them a new one - said who the fuck were they to tell her what her kids could and could not do. That if she said I didn't have to go to school I woudln't and they could kiss her ass.

They excused me.

She threw the same fit when they told her that she had to bring in a doctors note if I had a doctors appointment or it wouldn't be an excused abscence. Asked them if they were accusing her of being a liar?

I got excused that time, too.

Since I can't give any advice on running a meeting, i'll make the assumption that at some point or another you're going to have to do a presentation for this.

In that case i'll offer the best piece of advice i have.

Work backwards. Learn the last part of your speech first. Most people do fine for about the first notecard, and then they slow down as the speech goes on. Or, if you're like me, you'll go too fast during the beginning since you're nervous. Working backwards keeps the flow constant, IMHO.

hehehe uhmmm closet? tsk tsk Joe.
OK seriously, i am a very shy person in real life, talk softly, never look people in the eye sorta gal.
always have been a voyeur and discovered my exhibitionist streak when i got a web cam. but.... this is way different. i find myself doing this not for those types of reasons but because it needs to be done and shy and quiet is not going to make the chanfge that needs to happen here happen.
i am terrified but as long as i dont think much about it, i should be fine on wed.
