This is a real reach here: you feel guilty about something you did that ended the long-term relationship that you had that is now over. When the 'persons unknown' that are humiliating are consciously identified, it is, whether you consciously know it or not, the person you had the long-term relationship with.

It could also be something from early childhood --- ie the 'persons unknown' shamed you about something when you were little.

I find it hard to imagine that many people really get their ego involved in the kind of porn they watch or read. If one expresses only the vaguest interest in porn, they can find all sorts of it on the internet with the outmost in convenience. It's not as if one needs to go to much effort.

Although the things you mention probably influence one's choice of pornography, I think that they are not the only factors. There are a lot of possible reasons why one might enjoy certain varieties of porn. Oe might express the things you mentioned in many possible ways. I might express my insecurity by self-deprecating humor, for example, rather than by viewing pictures of conventionally-unattractive women.

I wouldn't deny that insecure losers (losers by someone's standard, anyway) exist. There are plenty of latent homosexuals or bisexuals out there, and antisocial people. Some of those people undoubtably view porn.

Your statements seem a little disingenuous to me. You write these things in an off-the-cuff, matter-of-fact manner, but there seems to be a hidden agenda. You must be aware of the potential hostility and untactful tone of your comments.

Not that I can't sympathize. Often, I feel that certain groups on the internet are quite insular. It seems as if they've been living in their own limited world for so long that they are no longer in touch with the conventions of normal society. In that respect, I can sympathise with the feeling that one should "call a freak a freak."
