Granted that's an issue, but what's really wrong with it is the obvious lack of funding for mental health institutions. But I feel like we've all heard this before.

Oh there's enough funding but the money is generally pissed away on the folks at the top. They get great pay and benefits, new cars, plush offices, travel, etc. Misappropriation of government money is common.

Well yea, but that applies to every sector of government, and to every underfunded agency. I'm talking about the general lack of attention the government pays to mental health facilities. They don't care, but what happens is mass shootings and the like because these people have no where to go. In my opinion, it's not so much money going to the wrong stuff, so much as no one would give money to the cause even if they could.
