We turned a thread about sleeping with women into college speak - lol. So here's a thread for our tangents.

I'd most likely go for the commute - I'm so completely a country girl. Living in town would make me go insane, and an insane kitten isn't a fun kitten.

Now there is a kitty cat after my own heart. :p

There is plenty of really nice countryside to live in around here, the problem is finding a place to live. The countryside is less expensive since most people don't want to commute, but there are mostly houses in the rural areas, and they are expensive to rent unless you share with someone. Some outlying communities are small and do have some affordable rentals, but they get gobbled up, or they are less than desireable.

I tend to do that (hijack the thread) whenever you are around - did you notice that? :p

Looking at a few things, and UW seems to have an excellent Jounalism program - one of the best actually. Also, creative writing and theatre looks good.

What part's after your heart? The country-girlness? Oh darlin' you don't know the half of it!

And even in this conservative Cleaver-ville I live in rent is pretty bad. A one bedroom apartment goes for $560 - and that's in a complex in town. A duplex or such is much higher.

I'd love to get out of the Mitten for a few years, just to experience something else, but my options are limited given that I would have to get a different car, scrape up enough money and all that. So, I'm not going to school next semester. I'm going to work my little butt off as much as possible to get some cash stashed.

Oh yes, I hated living in the city. Even the city I live in now is too noisy and cluttered. I want to live way out in the country where it is quiet, I can hear the birdies singing and the trees grow tall. And of course, I want room for a puppy dog.

I grew up on a farm and I get claustrophobic and unhappy in the city.

The Puget SOund and the West Coast are different - especially if you've never been here before. I am sure it is warmer in the winter, and it is probably a bit more mountainous.

Now who is making whose head spin? ;)

Be careful, I am just an old decrepit man, and you might get me too excited! :p

Hee hee - I live in the middle of cow/turkey/soybean land. I grew up between two farms (my parents did not farm, Pappa's an Ergonomics Eng. and Momma's a professional Nana now) But I spent most of my childhood playing with dirt and climbing trees:) (pretty image ain't it?) I still climb up in 'my trees' to write sometimes. I'm still happiest in a canoe on a river or lake, backpacking somewhere. But, I digress ...

Ooo Ooo, what kind of puppy dog do you want to get?

You get the warmth from the Pacific do you not? All we get here is lake-effect snow:rolleyes: Big pain in the ass - as beautiful as it is here.

*looking stern and pointing her finger* If you don't stop it I'm gonna come over there and smack you!

I am watching "The Diamond of Jeru"; not bad, but not spectacular either.

Ummm  I have no idea what that is.

Yep, I could imagine you as a little tomboy playing around in the countryside *drool* :p

City girls more or less turn me off.

I like the feeling of looking down on everything; it gives a different perspective. Havn't done it in a long time though.

Plenty of water of all kinds (river, lake, ocean) around here to do that on, although kayaking is the most popular. I can't really sit in a canoe or kayak anymore, I want to get a rowboat and use that for exercise.

You didn't see my thread called "puppy dogs??" - I want to get a Bouvier de Flandres - a large kind of Boxer like puppy dog with long hair. Very intelligent, loyal, quiet, agile and protective.

Yep. Down here on the Sound it rarely gets below 40 in the winter, usually in the 40-50s. On the other side of the Cascade mountains it is dryer, but colder in the winter sometimes dipping down below zero for a while (in 78 the Columbia froze over for several weeks in the Tri-Cities, it was 22 below).

Just a Billy Zane movie on the USA channel I haven't seen before, nothing special, but entertaining.

Yes mommy - I promise I will behave *cringes looking sheepish* ;)

Yeah, well I'm beginning to think I'll always be a tomboy:) But it's me, and I like me.

Nope - didn't catch the puppy dog thread. I want a pug, have wanted one since I was 5 and my grandma had one. A pug and a cat in a country house. *sigh* my dreams are so simple!!

Yes - much warmer over there!!! This year is supposed to be a bad winter for us, colder with more snow than last year. Many days will be below zero in the winter, and mired in snow. I love the wintertime - until I had to drive my beast of a van in the snow. Now I want to find the Snow Miser and bitch-slap him.

Or, I could just move :) And I'd really like to go off somewhere while I have no commitments or strings holding me down. Besides, I get so damned cold! I'm sitting here all bundled up with a cold nose and sneezing cats on my lap

Awww!

That is one adorable puppy-dog!

And you should cringe and look sheepish! I'm not pretty when I'm pissed;) Call yourself a decrepit old man again and ... *grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*

Umm CK, my daughter is a few years your senior, I don't go hiking because it hurts my back too much, I am balding and I've got more aches and pains than I can count or remember. I am a decrepit old man. A dirty old man yes, but getting more decripit by the day.

Now if some young girl wants to come along and make me feel young again, I could/would die happy. :p

*sigh*

Ah, I was just born six to ten years too late I think. I feel like I'm stuck on the island of misfit toys .. not quite right somehow.

And I suppose I meant something more along the lines of: "I know how old you are damnit man! Have I gone anywhere yet?"

and sheesh .. now I feel all serious now ... eek!

Hmm, approaching 1000 ... any title thoughts??

Well I did say I was a dirty old man right? You can still seduce me and make me die with my boots off. :p

Hmmm.. gotta think on that. How about "Contributor to the deliquency of helpless old men"? :D

 Oh yes, you're so helpless .. and it's soooo unfair of me to take advantage and seduce you like this .... I'd better stop and go to bed eh?;)

And am I good enough to kill?? Hmm, I don't know actually ...:p

There is only one way to tell. :D

I am glad I outlasted you tonight - but then I have a three hour time zone advantage on you. Were you distracted enough to forego the the tobacco?

Nighty night little kitten - sweet dreams (of dirty old men :p).

lol - you're not getting rid of me that easy darlin' - look at how close I am to 1000 ...

besides, my bedttime is an hour and a half off yet.

And day two of no smokes! Whew! At about 830 I was about ready to run to the store, I'm glad I came back here instead:)

(and don't tell anybody - but that's what my dreams often entail)
