There are people who don't like chocolate, regardless of the quality. I have a sister-in-law and nephew who are of that persuasion. I will never understand them.

I describe this as the wine approach.

When I was buying the chocolate, I was given several tasting samples and talked through the flavours I should be picking up on. It's fascinating stuff.

I should of gotten a ticket to the Wildland Chocolate tasting and booze pairing event that was last evening, but I had other things to do. Looking back, I should of been more selfish.

You can't go wrong with a small bite in most any small chocolate shop in Geneva.

You can't eat diamonds. Unless you use them for machining, they're pretty much worthless.

And you should never try to. Obviously, they are inhuman.

I graduated from 85% to 100% last week. The 85% brand I was getting from Trader Joe's was temporarily discontinued, so I picked up a bar of Montezuma's Absolute Black. One tiny square does the trick every morning after breakfast.

It's British, but being a rural yank, I don't know if it's proper.

That stuff is pretty damn good! Definitely a serious chocolate, not a lunchbox snack. I think I still prefer the other one though. I like the fruity notes.

Someone mentioned Whittakers of New Zealand as the best commercial product. Probably right.

Americans - poor sods, are poisoned by manufacturers putting corn oil in their chocolate. Corn oil is the devil's rancid semen. Avoid it in anything.

I ordered it online. It doesn't quite fulfill the hype as hands down the best chocolate ever, but it's Pretty damn good.

I found a new treat, in the sweet toothed commercial chocolate category. Morrisons supermarket, own brand, fair trade chocolate. A lemon and juniper gin flavor dark chocolate. At only 52% cocoa, it's a bit more scoffable if you want to devour a whole bar at a time. It's sweeter than the other chocolates I mentioned, but the tang of lemon stops it being sickly.

Milk chocolate is for children.

Similar with "Anasazi Beans." The Anasazi disappeared from this area about eight hundred years ago more likely than not the ended up down in Mexico are now back up here running casinos but archaeologists found beans that they were able to sprout and so they've brought back this variety of beans called Anasazi beans. They're basically pinto beans with model white and brown coloration. Frankly pinto beans taste better. The Anasazi beans are kind of tough and fibrous.

It's still cool though to include them in a soup or something though to think that a variety of beans that hadn't been seen for 800 years is something you're eating now.

I like to get the coca powder from this little Amish store that they swear to god they grow themselves but idk how the hell they're doing that in rural Ky- like I get greenhouses and shit but idk how the hell they're growing it enough to sell a tub of it for like $2.

It's really good though, in the sense that it tastes like chocolate. Made a bunch of brownies yesterday and 10/10 will totally make more.
