Women are more for [Clinton] than men are. Men tend to get more conservative because they gain power as they age, women get more radical because they lose power as they age.

They’re going to get more activist as they grow older. And when you’re younger, you think: ‘Where are the boys? The boys are with Bernie.’
Women are, of course, highly pissed off at this bullshit. Including those laypeople who call themselves feminists.

“Gloria Steinem’s statement was the worst kind of sweeping generalization I’ve heard in years about women my age,” said Moumita Ahmed, 25. She has been campaigning for Sanders as one of the leaders of the Millenials for Bernie movement.

“I was hurt because I consider her to be an icon of the feminist movement,” she continued. “I identify as a feminist. I’m not sure how she could admit us young women are graduating with more debt and earning less money, then say young women are supporting Bernie Sanders to impress all the boys.”
The problem is as I said - the mainstream feminists, the ones with the control of the media voice and the political power, are grossly disconnected with women in general, and even, alas, the powerless, voiceless feminist masses.

It's no wonder that women no longer see feminists as defenders of equality...

Apparently because you're not paying attention.

According to her wikipedia page, she writes for a magazine I've never read, meddles in the politics of a country I don't live in and was part of a national campaign 20 years before I was born, again in a country I don't live in.

I see no reason why I would or should know who she is.

funny, just replace women or feminists with Jew in LT's diatribe and look what it comes across like

How do you like the generalization LT rails against.
According to this op, all women are not represented by feminism anymore.

OK, gotcha, now I can function differently around women I guess?

Well he's right in this case. She's clearly gone batty in her old age.

LT hates generalization about men and more specifically about the Men's Rights Movement

but he is hilariously unaware of how much he constantly generalizes women and more specifically feminism

"Israel does not represent Jews anymore" - this would be quite an accurate statement for Jews who oppose Israel's policy on Palestinians.

Wanna try that again?

try what again?

think you're missing the point I was making...

here let me demonstrate

here's what you said

let's insert " jew" and see how it looks

The problem is as I said - the jews, the ones with the control of the media voice and the political power, are grossly disconnected with jews in general, and even, alas, the powerless, voiceless jewish masses.

It's no wonder that jews no longer see jews as defenders of equality...

little heavy handed, but sure looks like some hateful anti-semitism

but of course, if we put back women and feminism... you are soooo not misogynistic

False equivocation level 9,000.

"Jews no longer see jews as defenders of equality"
Jews are a people, feminism is merely an ideology. An ideology literally cannot perfectly represent a people.

As such you would be wrong even if you said "...JUDAISM as defenders of equality" as some biological Jews are Christians (Messianic).

And modern feminism is more analogous to the pro-occupation Israelis, which can loosely be tied to "Zionism", not Judaism. And it is CERTAINLY not analogous to Jews.

Again, false equivocation.

OMG.. you fell for such a blantantly obvious trap

you are absolutely right.. it is incredibly such an insanely stupid false equivalency

you know, sort of like comparing feminism to white supremacy

BWAHAHAHAHA

oh wait, it's different when you do it... because.. and... reasons

BWAHAHAHAHA

I am comparing one ideology to another. You're trying to compare an ideology to a people. Hint: one you can change, another is a trait you're born with.

And if you had said "Jews don't see Judaism as defenders of equality"

that is still not bigotry any more than "women don't see feminism as defenders of equality"

because

1) There are Messianic Jews who don't subscribe to Judaism at all; and
2) Judaism and Messianic Jews aren't at war.

Literally, feminists zealously bust the chops of women who don't support feminism. Cases in point:
http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jul/07/anti-feminist-women-hobby-lobby-decision-great
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...te-feminism-you-just-don-t-understand-it.html

Judaism doesn't spend 1/100th of this much energy going after Messianic Jews.

So your attempts at equivalence fails.

In any case, your pathetic and ineffectual attempts to Nazi-fy me doesn't in any way provide a convincing argument for women to come back to feminism. A majority of women want gender equality but they specifically do not want to be called feminists. That's your problem. Trying to make it my problem ain't gonna help you.

Ummmm.. I was directly comparing ideologies.. anti-feminism with anti-semitism. How could you not see that?

And if you had said "Jews don't see Judaism as defenders of equality"

that is still not bigotry any more than "women don't see feminism as defenders of equality"

and you directly said

the ones with the control of the media voice and the political power

which is nearly identical to the anti-semitic belief that jews have control of the media and politics

because

1) There are Messianic Jews who don't subscribe to Judaism at all; and
2) Judaism and Messianic Jews aren't at war.

and because

1. ) There are anti-feminists who are directly connected to anti-semitism
2.) Arguing isnt the same as war

And I literally will show you anti-feminism and anti-semitism hand in hand

yet you spend just as much time going after feminists as anti-semites do going after jews

So your attempts at equivalence fails.

except for the part where it clearly succeeds

In any case, your pathetic and ineffectual attempts to Nazi-fy me doesn't in any way provide a convincing argument for women to come back to feminism.

I was comparing anti-feminism to anti-semitism just as you were comparing feminism to white supremacy

and did you read the Wapo poll on feminists.. you might want to rethink your numbers

dude, you should be the one worried that your philosophy is indentical to neo-nazi's

man, this false equivalency stuff must suck when it's happening to you

Says the person whose philosophy is demonstrably identical to white supremacy.

As I said, even most women who believe in equality do not want to be identified with your movement. You should take that up with them, not me. :D

I don't know this woman, though I have seen this article. Don't believe it. She is only saying it because she is a politician and not a real feminist. People aren't voting for Bernie because they are boy crazy, they are voting for him because they think that he will help America.
