Promotion rules should be changed

I get that literolica is a free to read website, but so are a bunch of others like r/erotica and lush stories. What i've been seeing recently is moderators taking the "no promotion" rule very literally. I think literolica should change it like r/erotica's rule, that a line or two of promotion is accepted as long as it is accompanied by a story.

I mean, there's the singular link in my bio (literolica approved) to my smashwords page. Literolica even displays it directly under ur profile pic. (if u put one in)

How many times could someone post that same promotion? In a dozen different threads? Could someone start a thread with a promotion? Reply to every post asking for a story recommendation with that same promotional link?

I think it's an appropriate courtesy to authors to allow links to their writing in their profiles and signatures, but allowing posts promoting outside stories seems like it could throw the door wide open to spam.

Unless I'm confused about what the OP is requesting, I don't see a problem if you have a link to works for sale in your signature, providing you do have stories here to show you're a contributor to the site. If you don't have any work here, then that's where I'd see it as a problem.

OP is asking, I think, for the ability to include promotional links in the story itself. That is, to post an excerpt from a piece for sale elsewhere with a link to the store.

You may be right, my impression was that he wants to be able to post promo links in forum posts. Perhaps because he referred to moderators”.

If that's the case, that's not allowed, I thought he was talking forum posts with a link in his sig.

I'd note that the reference to what is allowed at r/erotica is not germane. Reddit is not a publisher of stories, but primarily functions as a disseminator of linked material.

Bold says they want to put links inside a story and maybe even an incomplete story.
