Which software?
The Works software. You should have a disk with the install for that package somewhere with the disks that came with the system.

It worked. Thanks, sarahh and zeb. *backs everything up onto CD*

Good!

It sounds as if you just maxed out memory? Pissed off your operating system? Sometimes if you are doing lots of writing and editing, opening file after file, you wind up with too many bits and pieces of the word processor software and it blows the computer's mind.

The Works wasn't known for it memeory management skills so the longer between reboots the more memory is lost for use by the operating system. There are memory gathers on downloads.com that may help with the leakage depending on your operating system.
