By the same token strangers treat me differently now than when I had short hair and was seen in civilian clothes. You see the public profiles also and they don't even realize it!

Well some of us realize it; yes I tend to profile a little based on a person's appearance, but I do not let it interfere with how I treat the person professionally (i.e., whether I hire them, how I evaluate them for performance reviews, etc.) except for whether I would be attracted to them for a relationship.

The difference is, that for the most part, private citizens do not have the authority to pull you over while you are driving, harass you, and/or put you in jail.
